Why do YOU need this WDW trip?

DH and I have had some struggles since our last trip to the World. Nothing life threatening (TG!) just a few disappointments and setbacks with job loss and relocation.

On our very first trip to WDW we stayed off site and took the boat from the parking lot to MK. In the distance we could see GF in all its glory and at that moment made a wish to some day stay there. That wish will come true on November 11th.
I need this WDW trip because I want to remember what it looks, feels and sounds like to have a dream come true … to want something so badly and to actually get it. I haven’t been in that position much in the last couple years and my soul needs to remember what it’s like. Why do YOU need this WDW trip?

Because I am endlessly frustrated in the new position I started this past summer. WDW is like our family retreat center... Hakuna Matata :) . We'll be at AS Music. Some day DW and I will be taking a kidless trip, and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be staying at GF.

DW, DD and I need every WDW trip not because of anything wrong in our everyday lives, but because of everything right at WDW. While we are at WDW it is 100% family time with zero interruptions. We don't worry about anything other than having to leave while we are there. Each trip has left us with fantastic memories and has marked the growth of our family over the last 7 years. A bad trip to WDW is better than a good trip to most other places.

Reasons we enjoy/need all of our WDW vacations. (or any other vacation)

- DH is a police officer in a very rough urban area. Very stressfull. He desperately needs an occasional disney fix to remind himself that not everyone in the world besides his immediate family is wacked.

- because of DH's odd work schedule and me working full time, we hardly get to see each other unless we both take vacation time.

- we value our driving time (yea, i know. most people are in a hurry to get there, but we actually look forward to the 16 hour drive to get there. We get to actually TALK in the car.)

Reasons we need our next WDW vacation. (hopefully in march) Nothing tragic and very small peanuts compaired to many others.

- we bought a new house last summer and were too strapped to have a vacation. (the stress of work and our schedules is catching up to us big time!)

- we also had a baby last summer (3.5 months ago) - no travel because of the screaming colicy princess. She is getting better though, and hopefully will be a happy baby by March.

- we are in the midst of a lawsuit. (very stressful for someone who has never been before. Owner of previous home claims we should be responsible for the water damage caused to the home by the redisuals of the hurricaines that blew thru. Bogus, yes. But still a pain in the butt defending yourself and very stressful when someone makes claimes against your integrety.)

We need a little happy family time where not only are we nice to each other, but most everyone else is nice to us as well.

amandadaddy~ That was very well said! I agree with you 100%!!!::yes::

Zippa D Doodah~ Hakuna Matata is a wonderful phrase!:teeth:

I agree with the above posters. We are going to WDW because it is our family retreat. It is the one place that allows us to leave all of our worries and troubles behind. It's a place where dreams come true and the sparkle in your children's eyes causes you to get tears of joy and happiness in yours.

I can't wait to go back!!!:Pinkbounc

#1: We have not been on vacation since Sept. 2001
#2: We have never been to Disney
#3: We have crazy schedules because I work 30 hours a week and got to college full time and DH works a full time carpentry job and then works a part time job every other night, needless to say, we don't have very much family time!!!

I need to see the happiness that only Disney can bring to the faces of my three DD's.

I also need the flood of memories WDW brings of my childhood trips with my three older brothers and parents.

Life has been rough! Maybe I should rephrase that. It's been very stressful to me. We are very blessed though....and believe me I have been telling myself that every day for over a year now. First we found out I was pregnant - Yippeeeee! We were so happy. We had waited until we were "financially ready" and then it took over a year and clomid for us to conceive. Then DH lost his job. Then DH remained out of work - I had my darling baby girl and she is my world. He was home to help me that 8 weeks I was off work which was nice. I went back to work. DH was still out of work. Then he got a job he didn't want and knew he would hate but he needed work. He now has a job that ended up being through a temporary service after they offered him the job like it wasn't.....and he should be going permanent in the next couple of weeks and now his boss has said she doubts he is permanent by the time we go on vacation December 4th. Oh throw in that new baby and the fact that DH may or may not have a job after being unemployed for a year - oh and I forgot I have been diagnosed with Graves disease in there too.....which is treatable but not until I wean my baby so I feel like crap all the time. I NEED this vacation - and it's on the bubble - I may have to cancel it because with DH's job up in there it may not be the "smart" thing to do. I need a big heaping dose of magic.

We're going because my DH and I are in the classic family "sandwich" situation...our DS has language processing disorders that make homeschooling our best option for him (even though it means we now live on one modest income) and my mother-in-law has developed early dementia this year. DH is the only child in the same town, so it's fallen on us to take care of her...she's entered assisted living, which will become permanent this month, but we still have to oversee her meds and make sure her needs are met 2-3 times a week. Adding to this, my older sister (48 y.o.) thought she had bronchitis last week only to discover she has congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy. She had a pacemaker put in last Friday.

One thing, even if we end up having to put part of the WDW trip on a cc, we NEED our WDW!!!:sunny:

Why do YOU need this WDW trip? [/B]

Because we've had a very long year! Moving into a new house and hubby has been SUPER busy at work with not much time to breathe! We need some Disney Magic!

... because WDW is therapy for life's little (and not so little) hurts, it's a vacation from "real life"
... because WDW is where my family reconnects after the business of our daily lives pull us apart
.... because WDW transports me to my childhood where I had big hopes and big dreams and innocence

I really don't have to go to this trip (Dec 04), but I feel that I need to, but actually I want to. I am celebrating our 10th year wedding ann with my children and celebrating his life. That's where he passed away at WDW and I thought it would be nice to bring back those memories and celebrate it at WDW and since it is our 10th year ann, I want to make it special so we are also doing the Disney Cruise and I think he would have loved it. I know he will be there with us through spirit.

ditto what amandadaddy said!

As stated in the 2nd post, FAMILY RETREAT CENTER.
Disney is the ultimate family retreat center.
Disney should market WDW as that.

My best friend and I are going on a trip in December. She lost her husband in March to cancer and her youngest son(20) to a motorcycle accident in June and has had a cancerous spot removed from around her eye just last week. I think she deserves this trip more than anything in the world just to get away from life! And I am happy to just be there with her.

All of you have a great trip, we sure are planning to have one for the books!

A few yrs after the unexpected death of my son (and deaths of my parents shortly after) I made myself return to WDW again although I feared I would cry the entire time remembering family visits with my children for all their growing up years.

I did have tears of memories, but also found it brought back a certain joy I no longer felt. It's different now for sure...but it will always be home to my heart.

This December will be my 3rd trip this yr - all short except this one is 5 days for mousefest. My son would have loved that I continue to go ....my parents thought Disney was only for kids..that's okay because I'm a kid at heart :) My daughter thinks it's great that I go, and incredibly, I still find so much joy each visit! :)

It's great to have this board and be able to share the fun of planning and anticpation with others who love the spirit and enchantment of WDW :)

Thanks, everyone!

Looking forward to grandchildren one day and then it will be new through their eyes again :)

Why we need this trip

Our last Vacation was in 1997 at WDW, second day of that trip we thought my wife had a miscarriage, rest fo that trip in Wheel chair.

Youngest DD born 10 weeks premie

Bought house year and hafl after that 4 lay offs pre forecloser paperwork, fought that off and saved cars too.

In the past 2 years my dad died, my ex dies at 41 of cancer. My older 2 kids of had a rough time of it

And man do we need a walk down Main Street. :D

Much more then I care to list, but I do have to say that god has smiled in us also, marraige and family doing great, wife got an AWESOME new job that she loves and they love her and we are looking forwad to sharing our love of Disney with our littlest princess during her first trip.

I don't NEED my Disney trip if you really want to know the truth, but it's what I WANT to do.
DH and I haven't been to Disney since May of 2001 and we had such a wonderful time when we were there, I can't wait to share that with him again.
It's a special place for us when we're there and by going as little as we do, makes it even more special. ::yes::
