Why Do You Like the Dolphin?

I have read some great reviews on this resort and I wanted to know why people enjoy the Dolphin so much? I will be staying here for the first time in January. I am very excited about our stay. We did have a chance to visit this resort in the summer when we were renting a car at their National desk. What I want to know is if the price makes the Dolphin more appealing? Many that give great reviews have stayed on deeply discounted rates. If you didn't have the deeply discounted rate (teacher, Priceline), but rather a DC or Entertainment rate would the Dolphin just as appealing? I have a reservation for 3 nights in January. I got a great deal from Priceline. My dilemma is that I need somewhere to stay Wednesday night before we move offsite for 3 nights. There is no availability through the Dolphin's website, but I can get a DC rate room through Dreams Unlimited for $220 including tax. I just don't know because of the codes that just came out I can get a SV room at the AKL for $164 plus tax, that's less than the Dolphin and it's one of my favorite resorts. We don't mind switching resorts, but we are already staying at the Hilton in DD the night before! Any suggestions?????????????

Location, location, location with a terrific teacher rate. We love the Epcot resorts with the accessibility to EC, MGM, BWI and wonderful restaurants.

Would I stay there if I didn't get that rate? Perhaps not. If rates were close between BC, YC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin ~ all deluxes. I might go with YC or BC. We've already stayed at BWI. With that said, I'm glad I had the opportunity to stay at the Dolphin but would like to try the YC or BC. To stay at a deluxe for such a terrific rate as offered at S/D is hard to pass up!

Here's why we love the Dolphin: fantastic teacher's rate, extra vanity in room, awesome views of Illuminations, Starwood Preferred card upgrades @ no charge, Tubbi's buffeteria, more "adult atmosphere", hardly anyone using Grotto pool, fast water slide, flat floats for rent, cheaper laundry than WDW resorts, short walk to Boardwalk nightlife, and excellent location to MGM & Epcot. We've stayed 3 times & never been disappointed, and we love YC, BC, & BWI, too.:)

Location, location, location....

Oh, did I mention location?

I'm afraid I'm the Swan gal, but I consider them 'sisters'. I am sitting right between my 2 fav parks - Epcot and MGM. I love the Friendship boats, being able to walk to the parks & Boardwalk, Tubbis buffeteria & the refillable mugs.....

Also:

Mini-golf right next door
Easy access back off Dis property - you are very close to the Interstate
All the stuff in one building - no 12 or 14 different buildings
Good bus service
Convenient parking
Beautiful pool (with a shady spot for me to sit at)

Oh, did I mention location?

Gee, has anyone mentioned LOCATION?
It's so easy to get to all the parks.
I love the lobby--could sit there for quite a while just people watching. The view from our window (Mickey's sorcerer hat, TOT,the Eiffel Tower in Epcot, AND the Boardwalk) could not be beat! Then there is the grotto pool. Not over run with screaming children--relaxing sounds of the waterfall. I just love the whole atmosphere there. Also LOVE the oatmeal soap!
