Why do you deserve to win a free WDW trip?

OK, most of you don't know this (in fact none of you know this - I didn't even know this until I just made it up), BUT, I just found out that Bill Gates is my cousin.
Well, he called me yesterday, and he said "Hey Goofster, I understand that you spend some time on the DIS board" and I said "Yeah, I sure do - who are you?"
"I'm Bill Gates" he said.
"Cool" I said (not many things surprise me). "So what do you want? Why are you calling me? - just out of curiosity"
"Well, he said, the thing is that I have a problem. I just realized that I have too much money."
"Yeah, I can relate" I said.
"Really?" he asked.
"Nah, I was just kidding".
"That's not very funny" he said. "Anyway, I was trying to think of a way to get rid of some of my money, when I thought of a great idea."
"Do tell" I said.
"What I want to do" he said, "Is to give somebody the perfect WDW vacation. And I figured the best place to find someone is on the DIS boards"
"Well, why don't you just give it to me?" I asked, "afterall, apparently we are related"
"Nope, too easy" he said. "The person who wins this trip must win it by telling me WHY he most deserves it"
"Huh" I said
"That's right" he said. "I want to know WHY you (or any other Disser) thinks that they are the most deserving to win a trip to WDW" "So go ahead and post one of your great threads asking people to describe why they think they are the most deserving to win a WDW trip."
"OK, Bill, whatever you say - Are you sure that you can't just give it to me?"
"NO, now go and post my question"
"Cheapskate (whispered silently under my breath)"

So, what reason can you tell Bill why you deserve to win an all-expense fabulous WDW vacation?

I don't either, but my cousin and his family DO. They have 5 kids and even though they live in the Cape Canaveral area not far from Disney, they can't afford to go. If I could, I would send them for a week.

My cousin did not have a great childhood and his only wish was to be the kind of father to his own kids that he never had. He has SO made that wish come true. His children are beautiful, wonderful people and they all know how much their parents love them. They have a home that they've lived in all their lives, they have good meals every night and they go to good schools. When my cousin was a kid, some nights all they ate was canned vegetables for dinner because that was what his mom got from the food pantry. He started working as a bus boy at 12 so that he could make money to contribute to the household. He and his wife made the decision that she would stay home and be there for the kids, so he has to work extra hard to pay the bills. I know there are TONS of other people who would fit the same description or who had even tougher lives, I'm just saying who I'd send if I could.

Well, I was gonna make up a lie about being good to orphans, nuns, and puppies, but I'd feel too guilty after the last post. :)

I do! Simply because I can not afford to go:guilty: I was fortunate enough to take my family back in 2002 for our first time. It was magical. It was perfect. However, due to everyday life and the issues we have to face, I am unable to take another trip. There is no place I would rather be than there again. I want to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I want to simply sit and soak up all the magic that Disney has to offer. It just feels good for my soul. Do you know what I mean??

Wow, honesty. Interesting tactic. :thumbsup2

 It's not really a tactic. I don't deserve a free trip to WDW. Maybe it's just the mood I'm in today, but I have all I need. My family is healthy, my girls are growing up to be beautiful people, we have all the food we could possibly eat, and a big house to live in. It's just a lot more than some have, and today I'm especially grateful.

Now if your cousin Bill called me up & offered me a free trip I probably wouldn't turn it down. ;)

I don't either. :) I'm lucky--we're all healthy and happy and have enough money to spring for a WDW trip.

However--I'd love one for my niece and her family. She has 3 kids, she's a SAHM and is going to school to get her MBA, her husband works hard but with 3 little ones, they just can't afford to go. If I ever win the lottery, I'm taking them. I did do some checking to figure out how much money I'd have to save to take them and my nephew and his wife (because if I did it for one and not the other, I'd feel bad.) Hopefully, someday I'll be able to swing it!

LOL, so far I think Trish is our winner ;)

I honestly don't deserve a trip either. We are blessed to have DVC and can afford the tickets to go once or twice a year. I would love to stay at the Poly concierge some day, but I have zero right to complain when we get to stay at OKW, BCV, BWV, WVL, SSR and soon to be AKV

I don't deserve it, but I'd love it! :thumbsup2

In fact, I'd love to go anywhere at all that had some sunshine. I'm so tired of dark grey skies (not to mention cold and snow.)

But there are tons of people who are more deserving, that's for sure.

I don't deserve it, but here's my pitch anyway.

DH says it is too expensive. DH says the kids are too young. DH says it will take too much vacation time during his busy season, Dh says he doesn't want to take the kids out of school. DH says the kids are too small for most of the rides. DH says it is too hot. DH says it is too cold.

You know what? I don't deserve a trip to WDW, I deserve a new DH! So I ask you Bill, are you ready to ditch Melinda? :confused3

Well, I would love to win a trip to WDW and take my dad down there. He has never been to Disney and I simply don't have the money to take him. We are not even going in the near future because we just don't have the money.

I would love to see my dad on Dumbo with his grandson! I think it would be a wonderful picture/memory.

I wish I could call my dad up and say "Hey dad pack your bags, you are going to Disney World" :)

Sadly I don't see it in the future of being able to take my dad to Disney World. He is currently battling ALS and although he is doing OK, he can still walk and get around on his own, he is starting to have some progression of the disease in his upper body (arms, speech, etc) I can see him slowly losing the battle to ALS :(

Anyway I didn't want to do a sob story but that is what I would do if I won a trip to Disney World :thumbsup2

:rotfl: that was going to be my suggestion of getting another dh or leaving him home and taking his credit card

I don't think I've done anything either to deserve a trip other than not smacking anyone today but the day isn't over

Myself, I don't deserve it.

Still it would be nice to win it though, for my kids. We've never been to WDW, the kids have only been to DL once, seven years ago. Would be so cool to see if autistic DD9 would recognize the characters, and live vicariously through her happiness. Be cool to give her the princess treatment while she's still at the age to enjoy it. DS12 would have fun too, I imagine. :)

I dont deserve one either, but can i have it anyway :)

Here is my story... (and I am sticking too it)

I deserve a trip to WDW because on Monday a fellow DISer not to name names (the goofster ;) ) started a thread about Dieting... I said sure, heck, I could lose a few pounds.

So I sit here eating 94% fat free popcorn because I am still hungry from my boring salad for lunch... dreaming of the dessert bar from Chef Mickey's and sitting at the parade eating a Mickey Bar.

So if I could get a free trip to WDW I would have an excuse to eat...:lmao:

I am just kidding of course... Luv ya goofster for starting the dieting thread. And I really don't deserve a free trip. My parents are DVC members and we are going with them in April (that is why I agreed to the diet... :thumbsup2 )
