I know that there can be more than one reason, but what is your deciding factor? For some, there are more than four people in the family, and that is the deciding factor - a room big enough. Ours has always been price before.

We go for the "feel" of the resort, so the decor gets my vote.

We stay at the CBR. I love the Caribbean and I LOVE Disney, so it's the best of both worlds for me! :D

I love  to stay in hotels. My dh thinks I'm weird like that, but I can't help it!! I chose decor... but really all of those things go into my decision. Deluxes are out because of $$... values are out because of room size (we were okay in 2003, but a little more room would have been nice.) I'm looking at the moderates and although the rooms are big at CBR... dh hates a long walk to the room. I STILL haven't decided 100% where we are staying yet!!

I voted location, but price is a close second. I would love to stay at Poly, GF, or Yacht Club, but we've opted for Swan/Dolphin and Contemporary because the price is more reasonable. We get the perks of being right next to the theme parks, but pay a little bit less--especially when Swan/Dolphin has their teacher's discount or a special rate.

I voted for price, but it's really not just the price, it's how much $$ we've saved! I don't mind paying for moderate (or deluxe for that matter) if we have enough saved. After price would be decor I guess, because if we save enough for a mod next trip, it will be CBR....we loved CBR, just the whole feel of it, so beachy and "vacation" like. Our deluxe choice would be CR, just because we liked the look of it, but also it's location....walking to MK! Amenities aren't really a factor right now....our boys are just now 4 and 19 months, and they can't swim, so a pool slide is out anyway. With the kids, a hot tub is also out, so we don't need that either. Spas and workout facilities don't appeal to us, either, so I guess we're just easy to please!

Good thing, the way things look right now, we may end up splitting between a value and CBR next trip, rather than CBR and CR.

We are a family of 5, so we have to go for size of room first. Then we consider the location of the resort, and then the money issue. :cool1:

I voted for location but when I started to post my reply I realized that price is probably always the final controlling factor. We have stayed at the Treehouse Villas, YC, AKL, and PO/Riverside and the final decision has always been the best deal at the time. Followed very closely by theme. If a location just doesn't appeal (like CSR) because we live in the Southwest, even a great deal wouldn't cause me to book there. But if it is something the family would like to try, again, price is the final key to the equation.

All of the things you listed are important to me, but I voted for price. I'd love to stay at Y & B or GF, but if I can't afford it...

I did vote location this time. I have been saving for this for awhile and it is our 15 yr anniversary (honeymoon at GF) so I wanted to do "disney right" this time. So we started w/ the Contemporary because I thought Poly was too much, however, when looking at CR tower it is more than Poly Garden and then I was won over by the theme of the Poly and it seemed full of more ambiance than CR. Location is such a deciding factor because we have 3 kids (9 and 5 :earboy2: and 2 yr old princess: ). I am so sick of staying off site and driving, using TTC (I hate that place) and buses. So the poly w/ it's easy access to the monorail and everything else won it for me. Talk to me when i have no stoller, diaper bag and kids that can keep up w/ me and I might pick a different reason LOL.

1990-GF
1998-Holiday Inn sunspree (nice but off site issues)
2000- "" ""
2002-Disney/Best Western (horrible-never again)!!
Feb 2005 Poly!!! yeah
