Why do you call at 7am sharp?

I've seen several posts about calling to check for AP rates at 7am. Does the CRO close and then reopen at 7am? I assume that's EST.

Thanks!

My understanding is that CRO opens at 7am - many people call exactly at 7am 90 days out from their arrival day attempting to secure hard to get Priority Seating arrangements (such as breakfast at Cinderella's Royal table).

Yes - CRO re-opens at 7am eastern.

Thanks for the reply. So do people also call first thing looking for the new AP rates?

Yep. There are only a certain # of rooms offered at the AP rate at each resort. You have to call early if you want to get the resort you want for the dates you want.

I've always found that if I call any time during the first day that passholder rates are released, I've been able to find availability at the resort I'm interested in.

Looking at the stress associated with calling every single morning at opening, compared with the savings I *might* lose out on by not calling immediately, I much prefer to lose the stress. (And so far it hasn't cost me anything, either. Once I had to stay at the Yacht Club instead of the Beach Club. If that were the worst thing to happen to me . . . .)

yep but it's about 100 rooms per resort/room class per day, the percentage of people that find out about the codes that soon and would want to go on the same day as you want to go isn't that high so you would likely be safe calling for rooms anytime that day instead of right at 7.

I have to disagree with some of the other posts. On August 28th last year AP rates were released for Oct-Dec. I needed rates for the cabins in November. I was on the phone promptly at 7:00 am and was put on hold. By the time a CM answered I was only able to book 2 of my eight nights with an AP. It took me WEEKS of calling every morning to finally get all 8 nights at an AP. I'll be calling first thing each morning until I get the cabins at an AP rate for our December trip.

In addition to PS and AP rates, another reason people call right at 7am because any room cancellations from the previous day are released back into the room pool at 7am the following day (this was told to me by CRO this week).

I originally had booked the 5+2 deal through Dreams Unlimited; then I got the email offer last week. I'd already booked air separately so I couldn't change my dates. When changing the reservation, they didn't have a std. savannah view at AKL for the first night, so I was looking into staying elsewhere the first night. CRO told me to call at 7am and perhaps something would become available. Took a few tries, but sure enough, I got the room.

do you know for a fact that its about 100 rooms per resort per room class or is that just your estimation, because in the past i have called fairly early on the ap release day and not been able to get the room i want.

I took it from page 185 from the 2004 edition of the unofficial guide to Walt Disney world. The original source the book is quoting is Mary Warning from www.mousesavers.com

so it's her estimate but I'm sure it's a pretty informed one, she also said 'reportedly so it's not 100% certain but I'm sure it's a good estimate..
