Why do Wendy's Restaurants...

give you a brand new cup when you ask for a refill? I noticed they do this at every location. Today I was in a Wendy's, and I practically handed my perfectly fine cup to the employee, and she told me to throw it away and got me a new one.

I don't know. Most of them seem to have the serve yourself machines.

Good point. We were at TGI Friday's the other night though and they kept bringing us new glasses. Apparently somebody at Wendy's that determines health and safety issues has recommended this be their policy.

I haven't refilled my drink at Wendys in about 6 months but the last time I was there, they didn't give me a new cup.

They aren't very environment friendly are they? A thirsty family of 4 could easily use 10 cups.

I guess simply because Wendy's has a stricter policy about refills.

I work for the 99 Restaurant and it is our policy per the board of health to bring the guest a new clean glass and new safety straw (just a bit left of the straw wrapper at the top) with every refill, kids cups included too.

I'd prefer a new glass myself also.

The official reason is because of health department rules, according to my Dh. (He works for a company that owns several Wendy's stores.) Then there is also the small issue of the cup not holding up well to refills. The bottoms tend to disintegrate rather easily. That was the reason I was given when I asked once. My Dh has experianced the disintegrating bottoms a couple times on his first cup.

I've noticed that Wendy's cups do not last long. Never ever leave one in the cup holder of your car over night.

Their meat is square so that the corners stick off the edge of the bun (giving the illusion that you are getting more meat)
