Why do we care so much about getting tagged?

I mean, on other message boards to people obsess about having color below their usernames? If you don't have a tag, do you feel lower than those who do? Do those of you who have one look down on those who don't have a tag? I mean, wherelse do people beg to have the stupid things they say imortalized forever in a tag under their name?

Because we all want to feel accepted. Having a tag makes you feel like a part of something bigger. I have one tag. I like it but I didn't beg for it.

I honestly don't care if I have a tag or not. I certainly wouldn't turn one away, but if I never get one, Oh well.

We can tag ourselves, but I don't think we can colorize ourselves. I've had tags and then eventually either erase it by accident or I decide that I want something new and erase it on purpose.

Are there such a thing as tags on other message boards?

I think it is because it means someone is listening and thought whatever we had to say was worth "tagging".

However I have close to 2,000 post (or more I forget.) and no tag.

Oh well, I think someone is "listening" to what I have to say, just not the tag fairys. After all it is a big board.

I never really paid attention to them until, all of a sudden, I had one. I thought it was a nice little thing to brighten my day and make me laugh. I wasn't sad without one nor did I feel like I wasn't part of the group. I didn't receive any until I began posting on the Community Board--the things I posted on the theme park boards were basically information type posts.

I gave my own tag but got colorized and then the other ones just showed up. Didn't ask for it, didn't care if I got it or not. Since it's there I just leave it alone.

I am from Roswell (4th generation) and the "Official UFO Museum" actually has my family's statement disavowing all knowledge of the UFO incident (They reported it landed on my grandparents ranch).
Curious how you got that particular tag.

He more than likely gave it to himself. Usually the colored ones are tags give by the tag fairy and the black ones tags a person has given themself. Of course the tag fairy can colorize a tag a person has given themself and I thought I read that a person can give themselves the gift of color, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Interesting about your family. My mom lived in Roswell for awhile growing up and she was always intrigued by the whole UFO thing.

I'm from Roswell, born and raised. I moved out to Boston about 7 years ago, and eventually Cape Cod. I still have family there and visit as often as possible. Every time I mention I'm from Roswell I always get, "Have you seen an alien?" My response has usually been, "I am an alien. I was born around Alpha Centauri." So I thought it'd be funny to incorporate that into my tag line. Where's your families ranch? If your family signed a statement disavowing all knowledge then it should be up north near Corona...am I correct? Wow...another Roswellite.

I think it's kinda cute...But I actually saw a "I got tagged!!!" Post and had NO clue what it meant..so here I am in a search and I see....Now off to see if I can figure out how to colorize my tag since I am pretty computer savvy If I can't no biggie since it's only color and I notice siggy's more then tags.
