Why do we bother sometimes?

I DO NOT WANT TO HURT ANYONE'S FEELINGS...... BUT....


I have a college degree. I recently found out that someone who has NO DEGREE will be going back to work for the Sylvan that I previously worled for. Granted, she kissed the owner's hiney. But, to get paid $40K or more with no freakin' degree in an EDUCATIONAL setting just irks me!

CAll me jealous. Maybe I am since I paid off a colege loan and went through all of college.

Carol, I won't tell you about where I work then I know I make a few thousand more because I have a degree in communications, but still the salaries of all where I work would probably blow you away if you knew that about 1/2 don't have a college degree (or equiv experience).

I guess I understand it in some places...but an EDUCATION company should have more respect for a degree. It is like a slap in the face of all of us who have worked there for them to bring this person back.

Sometimes it is the people skills and teaching ablility that matter not the degree but I can understand your frustration.
