Why do they ask this?

Why do they ask how many times you have been to WDW when you are making ADR's? Do they give you preference if you have been more times? And what about when they ask if you are on the DDP? :confused3

They ask the number of times you have I suppose just to take a poll and see what kind of clientel they have .. ie. repeat visitor , first time etc. You do not get any preference for visiting more ( that would be awesome though because I have been so many times). As far as the DDP goes I think they just like to mark it on the ADR so the waiter will know upon arrival, also if there is any additional info you may need because you are on the DDP.. for example the deposit/payment for CRT is different when on the DDP.

You know what we "noticed" *so I may have not really seen it all was that they people on the DDP were not getting the attention that we seemed to be getting. Just something that makes us not eager to try the plan- it was as if the waiters didn't feel the need to put the extra effort in there. Now again this was just what we noticed. From the obvious ones on the dining plan.

I definatly see what you are saying. Their tip is included already so why work hard for it, they get it regardless. I will be using the dining plan for the first time in Sept and I will be speaking to a manager if I recieve sub-par service due to the fact that we are on the plan.

We have participated in many versions of the DDP over the years, and have never been treated "differently" because of it. We've had good service and bad service with and without, and think sometimes people may feel defensive for some bizarre reason. We have always felt welcomed as guests. As far as the ADR's, if you are on the DDP and make a TS reservation, the likelyhood that you will be in the restaurant longer is very high, as your party will most likely take full advantage of the appetizer, meal and dessert. This usually results in a longer table service, and they try to block out time accordingly. :)

Thanks for the replies. I have read that many people did not get as good of service when it was found out they were on DDP. I mean, a 18% tip is still a pretty good tip.

They may just be asking as 1) a marketing strategy to poll how many DDP participants are booking reservations and 2) so the CM can point out if a restaurant is not on the plan when you are making reservations so you avoid issues later (not everyone is as manic about making reservations as some of us and may not realize it!).

They don't have to know you're on the dining plan; I made all of our reservations before we even decided for sure to go and before we booked. No biggie. =)

Same here - I've been planning for months now - all ADRs done at 180 days but just this week I decided to add dining plan...
