Why do so many have cc left over?

I would think it would be easy to use them all, but many people have many left over at the end of their trip? Do you forget about them or what?
Thank you i'm just wondering.

We have used DDP twice and both times we had 6 CS credits left . Some days we would eat a TS lunch and then snack in the afternoon so would not be hugry at dinnertime and would skip dinner or only order 2 meals for the 4 of us to share. Its alot of food. We have never paid for DDP, if we had we would of made sure we used them all.

We had 4 CS left and 12 snack credits left on our last day in May. We used all the snack credits on Mickey rice Crispy treats to bring home for people. We decided to use 2 CS for breakfast that day for Mickey waffles. We normally ate breakfast in our room. We used the last 2 CS for sandwiches to go to eat at the airport for dinner before we left..............

I realize that's a simplistic answer, but it's true. Last year, we were 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 3 & 9). At TS meals, we always used 4 credits (2A/2C), because we decided it would be too complicated to try to save credits and then have to figure out where to use them. Besides, we only did 1 TS meal per day, and that was more than enough, food-wise and time-wise.

CS credits were trickier, because we never ordered 4 meals at once, especially at our resort food court. The kids usually shared a meal, and sometimes still had food left over. Sometimes I just ate the kids' and dh's leftovers, plus whatever leftovers we had in the fridge from the day(s) before. We didn't always agree on where we wanted to eat, so sometimes dh would order a meal and I'd just have some of his sides and dessert. If anyone was still hungry, we'd use a snack credit.

But we're weird eaters (dh is semi-atkins, I'm vegetarian), so this worked for us. Here's an example: dinner at Pecos Bill's was 2 burgers and fries, 2 drinks, and 2 desserts. The kids split one burger and drink. Dh ate the other burger, while I ate the bun (after a trip to the condiment bar, it was like a veggie sandwich) and some of each of their fries. The kids each got one of the desserts, which neither of them finished (but I did). Later, I got a spicy cheese pretzel with a snack credit. So we ended up with dinner for 4 for 2 CS credits + 1 snack credit. Scenarios like this are fairly typical for most people on the DDP.

And snack credits were the hardest of all to use up. After all the food from the TS and CS meals, we were hardly ever hungry for snacks. When did get a snack, we almost never ordered 4 at once, or a lot ended up in the garbage.

In your case, since you still have one child who's free, it will probably be easier for you to use up credits, because the little one can just eat off the older one's plate (and your plate, and your dh's). But don't be surprised if you end up like many of us--in line at your food court on the last day with an armload of mickey rice krispie bars to take home!

As 3 adults we usually share 2 cs meals and generally we have at least 1 meal paid for out of pocket. We also don't do the breakfast thing all that often (but we are starting to a little more - even though they are not as good of a "deal" because of the no dessert thing - many cs breakfast platters contain a lot of food and are very tasty).

Well i guess we are the odd balls, myself (mom) and my DS 14, had only a few snack credits left, but last day we used them all up and took some things home........

For us it is the so much food factor too. Plus we find it much easier to eat a quick breakfast in our room on many days instead of heading over to the food court - so we bring some cereal and buy some little donut holes with a snack credit. That way I can shower while dh gives the kids breakfast and I can be getting things ready to go while he gets ready - so we don't have 'wasted' time on breakfast - need to get there at the rope drop! :)

We also split many CS meals - and still have plenty. We will be splitting many again this Aug when we return. At this point because I KNOW how much food it is - we'll be starting out with 2 or maybe 3 meals (on the days we have no big TS meal scheduled) for the 4 of us. If anyone's still hungry - we'll just grab a snack or two with credits after we're done.

Oh yeah - and IMO - you can easily use all your snack credits in the summer - on water and other drinks in the park to keep hydrated. We had a case of water in our room to use tho - so we didn't use many credits on that type of thing.

that's exactly how we ended up with 1 TS (DS not hungry), 5 CS and 11 SC left at the end of our 10 day trip. Yes, we took Rice Crispy treats home but still couldn't use everything. As long as no one was EVER hungry or thirsty, I really didn't care!! According to my receipts we ate about $1850 in free food!

On the platinum plan I had 23 meal credits left on the last morning! These can be used at any restaurant including V&A, - so I bought breakfast for a family at Boma, Breakfast for a family at Mara and 16 mickey rice krispie treat that my DD brought home for her whole class.

We ended up with 4 CS meals left last summer....On the last morning we opted to pay for breakfast OOP at the food court and save the CS credits for lunch (thinking lunch would be more expensive). Would have worked out great if we didn't pay OOP for those GIANT sundaes' at Ghiradelli's in DTD around 11:30am....We couldn't eat another thing:guilty: But boy were they good!

Last year, DS and I easily used all our credits, but it was because he got kids meals. I'm thinking the more adults you have, the more those appetizers start taking over. Usually, a party of 4 would order one appetizer if any at all--not 4! Same with dessert. We used almost all our snack credits on bottled water because I thought the water in Orlando tasted awful. This year we're ordering water delivered and we'll have 3 people using adult credits, so I think we'll have an overabundance of food.

We used all of our credits last year. We were there for 7 nights. There were several times we did not use 4 counter service at one time. The extra ones were used to buy CS breakfast some mornings. We used 4 TS at each meal. We had a few snacks left over on the last morning so we just got bottled water and Gatorade at the food court and took them home with us.

My family generally shared CS meals as our own portion control plan. We would share a CS breakfast and sometimes a CS lunch. By the end of the trip in August we had several left over. We do have a sit down meal at the end of the day, and have paid OOP if we needed to in order to have one each night. In October we have decided to use a CS for one evening meal in order to use them.

DH and I don't like the same food so we never share. But here are our reasons for having extra credits at the end of a trip:

* We've paid OOP for extra table service meals so we haven't used as many counter service credits. We usually end up with extra CS credits.
* When our flight has arrived very late on arrival day (after 10 or 11 pm), and our departure flight is relatively early, before noon -- we don't get to use as many credits.

We love the DDP though! Being able to buy the DDP without park tickets was a big advantage for us when deciding to buy into DVC.
