I ran into Target after church today and I saw Valentines Day candy :scared1: Retailers are always in such a hurry to get to the next holiday before the current one is even over.

:confused3 I know - I've seen Valentines stuff at Walmart, Big Lots & the Dollar Tree already!

Why do retailers rush the holidays?

In a word.....profit.

You personally are only going to buy a certain amount of merchandise for, say, Valentine's Day. If I own a store and I can get you to buy it TODAY, then you won't have the chance to spend that same money to buy those same items from my competitor next month.

No lie... at Kmart we just saw EASTER candy... called Peter Paratroopers. :rotfl:

Exactly what I was going to say!

I'll just add one thing: We tend to have candy for EVERY holiday nowadays. So if they can get you to go ahead and buy your Valentine's Day candy now, and you eat it in January, chances are pretty good you'll buy more candy or Little Debbies, or whatever before Valentine's Day rolls around.
