I moved into a new office two weeks ago, different building than where I was before, a whole new set of people.

I keep in my drawer a box of tea. I have a cup in the morning and maybe a cup in the afternoon if I'm feeling chilly. I noticed the other day that I have been going through alot of tea lately, but didn't think much of it. When I came in yesterday there were three tea bags left I took one and threw the other two in my drawer. I know when I left yesterday, they were still there. Come in this morning all my teas gone!!!

Now if you want tea, just ask. I will share anything with anyone. Just don't steal it!!! :furious:

I used to have this problem too. I had to start hiding it under other things.

If someone wants some I would be more than happy to give it to them just don't outright feel it is yours for the taking.!!! :rolleyes2

How's this for stupid? A few years ago our home was broken into. The stereo, tv, vcr, computer, etc were untouched. The theives went straight for my jewelry box, and took almost everything. However, in their rush to take all of my costume jewelry, they left my emerald and diamond ring and my pearl earrings. :confused3 (Don't get me wrong, they did get a lot of gold jewelry, not just the cheap stuff.) They also took all of my barrettes and hair clips and some drug store perfume. :rolleyes2

We had someone stealing chinese takeout leftovers a few years back! If you are really that hungry, I'll buy you a sandwich!

at my old job, we had a communal fridge. In it, I would have my fat free flavored creamer. I would put my name on it and the request not to use it. no matter what, it would be empty within a few days, even though I only drank one cup a day. And two times, I hadn't even opened it yet when someone had the gall to open it themselves and use it! Another time, I used it once and the next day, it was empty! One of the many, many reasons I'm glad I don't work there anymore!

In college we had a condom theif. We finally found out it was one of our roomates too lazy to go to the drug store. Imagine being the one they ran out on in the middle of the night ;)

At a past place of business, the workers would steal the toilet paper????

Why?

TP has got to be one of the most inexpensive and most accessible items to get. Why jeopordize your job for an item you get get at any corner store? :confused3

Someone used to steal our food, so we laced it with Ex-Lax and found out that a security guard missed work for two days with diarrea! We could never prove it was him, but nothing was ever taken after that. :lmao:

You wear drug store perfume? :faint:

:rotfl2: That's great! We did something similar. Food kept disappearing out of the lunch room fridge, so one time we sprinkled gobs of salt on some leftover pizza (under the cheese, so you couldn't tell). Next day the pizza was gone, but nothing else ever disappeared again. :rotfl2:

:lmao: One of my employees told of doing that at her day job. She was a teacher and every day, her dessert would be missing out of her lunchbag. So she made cupcakes, iced with exlax and sussed out the thief. Her 'teammate' in the science class across the hall kept running to the bathroom and complained that she had no idea why she had the runs. Brit asked 'was the cupcake good today?'.

Never lost another dessert after that-word gets around a middle school FAST!

My fiance and I were leaving out of our garage a few weeks ago and noticed that someone had stolen our downspout gutter off the garage! We looked at the house next door and our neighbors was gone as well. We checked our other garage (we own a duplex) and the gutter wasn't missing but the eave (sp?) had been pulled away like they were going to. Someone must have seen them! Gutters.... :sad2:

In college, when my DH's roommate moved out of their apt, he took the light bulb from the front porch. I suppose it probably wasn't stealing since it's quite possible he bought it, but I thought it was an odd thing to take. :confused3

I think it was my sister who told me that at her office someone cut a piece of birthday cake (not their own) before it was served or even before singing happy birthday.

People steal cans of pop that people bring in for lunch out of our office refrigerator all the time. What do they think it's free? I now put a rubber band around my can. It seems to be working. And I always put my name on my frozen dinners, otherwise I'd never see them again!

whenever a co-worker was ill or having a special occassion, our boss would bake. these things were all wrapped with bows & cards--most definately a present--well there would typically be cookies missing or a huge slices of tea breads snagged--yup, she laced chocolate chip cookies with Ex Lax--about 40 of us giggled as we saw the big boss--(who also happened to be an arrogant, lazy piece of work & a sexual harrasser to boot! :p ) running back & forth to the rest rooms--nothing ever went missing again--
A friend had her undies missing off her clothes line--she lived across the street from the police station, where her 2 brothers are officers. Well, seemed she'd just bought a bunch of new underthings & she was p*ssed & reported it--big mistake! :lmao: It kept her brothers & the rest of the station in stitches for weeks--& oh, yeah, they did catch the pervert--evidently he had quite the collection of evidence at his apartment! :rotfl:

This happened in our office a couple of years ago. The cake was still in the box from the bakery.

People can be so darned greedy it drives me nuts. Our office is so generous they give us everything for free (lunch, sodas, OTC medicines, tampons). But people just can’t resist taking advantage of it. The sooner the tampon machine gets stocked, they all disappear. They take packs of sodas home. They eat their free lunch and then pack up a bunch of food to take home. They take the toilet paper home (and who wants to use that cheapo stuff anyway?). And everyone who works here makes pretty decent money. I just don’t get it.

Someone stole a tin of Altoids off my desk several years back.

When I was 17 (this would have been '91-92), someone broke into my car and stole a cassette mix tape (not even an original album or anything!) and a Bic ballpoint pen.
