I am surprised that you would have to ask. If one is paying for accommodations at the Allstar resorts for less than $100 a night, please tell me why you feel that you would be welcomed to take up the space of a guest at the GF who may be paying $400 per night? If you like the pools at the other resorts, why don't you stay in them?

#1--It's Disney's rule. No one is forcing me to go to WDW. If I go, I will follow their rules.

#2--It is not fair that someone pays for the ammenities at a Value Resort, and uses the ammenities of a Deluxe. You want better ammenities, pony up the cash.

#3--For us, personally, pool hopping is literally not even on our radar. DS loves swimming, and doesn't really care if the pool has a slide or not.

I've stayed at Ft. Wilderness 2x, and both times have been asked to read, acknowledge, and sign a paper saying I understand that I am not allowed to pool hop.

what does it hurt? how 'bout crowds?! i choose to stay (and pay!) in a hotel based on its amenities... one of those things that i am willing to pay for is a better pool area... why should someone not paying for that perk get the privilege of it for free? perhaps while pool hopping you would like to come up to the concierge level and enjoy the free snacks and drinks... heck, they are there, someone has to eat them... why limit them to only those that are paying for them?!

you get what you pay for... you like a better pool, pay to stay at a better resort... i do!

Folks if someone it doing something that does not impact you life or vacation why worry about life is to short.

if i cannot get a lounge chair or my kids have to wait twice as long in line to go down the slide 'cause there are dozens of pool hoppers in "my" pool, then it does impact my vacation... and while i do not worry about it... if people just followed the rules i would not even have to think about it! :flower:

Interesting. On that note, its only money, life is short, so just spend what you have to, and stay at the resort with you pool you like.

1 or 2 families pool hopping? Your right, it doesn't impact anything.

The problem is that it isn't 1 or 2 families, but 100 or 200 hundred families. That's going to impact even the largest WDW pool!

You want water slides and hot tubs? Pay for them!

I don't "hate" pool hopers, I don't hate anyone. But my opinion of those people start at "cheapskate cheaters" and go down from there. So, if you (a general "you" not directed at any one person)really don't care about others opinions of you, breaking WDW rules, and teaching your children it's okay to break rules, then knock yourself out. You also run the risk of being embarassed if/when they check hotel id cards and kick your're cheating butt out.

Thats funny you will spent 60-90 min for a ride at a park but you can't wait 1/2 min for the pool. we never use the Chair at other resorts and never stay in Value Resort.

I don't hate pool-hoppers. I can't say I or my family has ever been inconvenienced by them or even noticed them for that matter. We've never thought about pool-hopping and I'd hope others would show the same consideration. But we're not all the same.

If there is a hotel with a pool that you like then please staythere. Why would you choose a different hotel if you don't like the amenities it offers? If a particular amenity is what you desire than pay for it like everyone else.

Would you like to wait 1/2 hour in line behind customers that have snuck into WDW when you are a paying customer? I know I wouldn't. I also wouldn't want to have to search out a pool chair because some trash decided that they are entitled to something they haven't paid for. Generally the hoppers are big mouths and like to brag about how they are from another resort. When that happens I simply walk over to the lifeguard and let them know. The pool trashers are then kicked out.

I don't think it's a matter of wait time. When all the chairs are taken, the pool is "full" and there's a long line for the pool slide, it's about being able to use the resort amenities you paid for (and paid a LOT for if you are staying at a deluxe resort).

Most people are fairly patient when on vacation. However, one's patience can be sorely tested when taking one's family to the pool to swim, but they can't because dozens of people from other resorts or even some who aren't staying at Disney are in the resort pool.

You are right... I honestly don't care when I'm not there. But when I am, that's when I care. You want to be able to use what you paid for.

I will tell you that it indeed has impacted my vacation. When the Yacht and Beach Club first opened, there was no checking of ID's. Anyone could wander over anytime from any resort, pretend that they were guests and take a lounge chair. I can remember being there with my family of young children at the time and my mother and not being able to find even one seat for my mother. I asked a teen who had her butt on a chair and her legs on another to give me a seat for my mother. She refused. A short time later I heard her talking to her friend and figured out very quickly that they were not even staying on Disney property!! I was so angry I found a cast member to complain to and he brought us chairs. This scenario was played out for at least 2 to 3 years before something was finally done about it. Sure, I would like to swim at the Yacht Club but since I didn't pay for it this year, I wouldn't presume to do so.

Since I'm a DVC member, I have the right to pool hop whenever I want to, except in the most crowded of seasons. Hmmm, get on a bus in my swimwear, go to another resort, play in the pool and take a bus (or rental car) back to my home resort, while dripping? No Thank You. I wouldn't even consider it.

BB and TL are different, as they have lockers and lockerooms where I can change before I return to the Poly.

BTW, I doubt he's talking about the GF pool (boring, in my opinion). I expect he's talking about Stormalong Bay in BC/YC.

I have stayed at WDW many of times and have never seen the pool so full that one or two more people would make a differance. I never use your chairs.

Thats funny, because 100 other people feel that way, then there are 200 more people at a pool/chairs they don't belong. Would that make a difference? How about 500? And if its ok for 1 or 2 people to do so, why not everyone right?

so, which pools are your preferred hopping pools? do you use the resort's pool towels as well (taking them back to your motel with you)? :rotfl:

you replied that one waits in line for 60-90 mins at the theme parks, what's the big deal about waiting to go down the pool slide... well, i just want to point out that not all of us go to wdw when the waits are an hour plus... we are careful to go off-season so as to avoid crowds and waits... both in the parks and at our pool...

But maybe someone from your Resort may come to your pool. Folks You are on vacation Lightn Up. I'm Not Trash Jack Bag.
