Okay, Ill bite. I don't have srong feelings one way or the other, but I have minor feelings against them. We've been, we enjoyed it, but I don't feel the need to go back. Truly, I've only been to the CP, but sort of don't feel the need to do any of the other parties. (They discontinued the Princess one) I do feel there are WAY too many parties. They aren't special if they aren't rare; they are mostly just a money grab.
Mostly, it's about balancing cost choices. (costs, hours, weather) I've been to WDW many times, and party tickets are quite a bit extra to shell out. If you are visiting for the week, and there are multiple parties, that means you kind of can't go to MK in the evening that whole week. It's mildly annoying. You get less for your money so to speak (until you consider low room rates) Instead of October this year, we chose July. We had late night hours with low crowds in the parks all week without having to pay extra. Of course I say this as someone who's been to WDW many times over.
I also remember E-ride nights. Compared to those, the parties really do feel like little more than a money suck. If folks don't go, then they will reduce the number of parties. You'll get more regular hours included with your regular ticket - OR - just MAYBE - at some point, WDW will consider bringing back e-nights. For $10 a person, you got extra hours in the MK- with promised low crowds. They weren't heavily advertised, and most folks didn't know what they were, so it was kind of an insider thing almost. That gave them a little extra magic, and the small price made e-nights a real bargain. I'd gladly pay $10pp for an e-night again!
