Why do people bother deleting their first post

When I see a locked thread and I usually start at the last page and read backwards. I know, its evil, but its also human nature to be noisy.

I don't think many times they realize that even if they delete it, the quotes don't change.

That's the exact same thing I do. Unless you don't want it read, or debated, then why post it. Because it's NOT going away just by deleting it.
