Earlier this week, I went to my local Walmart and decided to buy a poinsettia basket that was marked $8. I go to pay for my purchase and the flowers come up for almost $13. I tell the cashier, a cranky 40 something man, that the price is $8 and not $13. He says that is price that is ringing up and what he must charge me. What? How about a price check? Well, he didn't want to be bothered and told me to go to customer service. I was in a really good mood and didn't want to get into it with him, so I went to cs and took care of it.

Tonight, I'm a sucker for punishment, I went back to Walmart. While I was there, I found a dvd with all of Eddie Murphy's work from his SNL days. We had to look for an associate to help us get the dvd from the locked video case. I asked her if we could pay for it up front, she said that anything out of the case has to be paid for in electronics. No problem, we get in line. There is only one register in the video/electronics department, and there was a long line. In front of us, there is a woman with a cart FILLED (no exaggeration) with toys. I thought, "Why is she here, this is electronics?". Ok, never mind. What happens next? Another woman comes with her cart, also filled with toys, and gets in line with the woman in front of us. Ok, I'm getting ticked now, but it's about to get better. Another woman, that obviously is there shopping with the other two, comes with her arms full of other items and gets in line with the other 2 women. :earseek: :earseek: That's it, I have had it!!!!! I turned to DH, the most patient man on earth, and told him that this was ridiculous. We went to check out in the front of the store and then paid for our purchases.

I think I better finish my Christmas shopping online... :bitelip:

I try to avoid Walmart at all costs. They have no space around the merchandise so you can walk through the selling areas. The stores are always dirty. Stuff if all over the place. People leave carts all over the parking lot instead of returning them to the cart parking area.

I'd much rather go to Target or Kroger.

We went to Wal Mart yesterday and I rarely go there because it's not convenient. DH had seen a stereo for DD#1 for $149 that was pretty nice and should last her a while. We bought it. Later in the day we saw the same on at Target for $30 MORE. I was surprised because I also like Target better.

I just pay more at Target to avoid WalMart. (My sanity is worth something LOL!)

I recently stopped going to Walmart and started going to Target. There are never any lines at Target, the cashiers are more friendly, the shelves are stocked nicer and you can actually fit down the isles (our Walmart always has crap piled in all the isles) :headache:

I hate Walmart. But sometimes the low prices are irresistable and I go there anyway...I almost always regret that decision! I haven't gone there in several weeks now, and I am really going to try to stay away during the holidays!! I just ignore any ads I see for them so I don't see a low price on something I'm planning to buy. LOL

Oh and I love Target too! I can't think of one bad experience I've had there!

I would much rather shop Target over Walmart anyday.
Working someplace where Customer service is a top priority and then having to shop Walmart sets my teeth on edge.

Walmart - bad bad bad!! :crazy2:

Even my 4 year old knows it. If I tell her we are going to Walmart (which is VERY rare) she reponds with, "No! We hate Walmart Mommy, it stinks in there."

I LOVE Target. :worship:

I love Target, too. Many of the employees at our store have been working there for a long time, so I have gotten to know them. I have never had a bad experience at Target.

Walmart is just closer to me, it's convenient. This particular Walmart has really declined in customer service. The city and residents really gave them a hard time before they built the store. At first, they were very helpful and nice, the store is still clean and organized. It has been over 2 years since it opened, and the employees now are just cross. I think the motto for potential employees at Walmart is "Happy and helpful people need NOT apply".

They just opened a huge Wal-Mart over here. My boyfriend and I went to check it out one day and although i did save money on some items, I don't think I will be back there unless I really have to go. Not worth the aggravation.

I love Target! The lighting is much softer and pleasant. The people there are more friendly and eberyone in the store seems to be in a better mood for some reason.

Yea, they're in a better mood because they are treated like real people. Walmart has terrible employee relations, as witnessed by the class action suits being lodged against them.

Just say no to Walmart!

I LOVE Target. We don't shop at Wal-Mart, and when we move that is all our town has :( Not sure how I'm going to buy the things that I usually get at Target. I suppose I'll be shopping online more.

Well we decided we would try the late night shopping at Walmart - NOT AGAIN! Ours is "open" 24 hours. Well you can only enter/exit one end of store, jewelry is not available, andthe dressing rooms were even closed! I ended up parking our cart and leaving.

I decided not to do any Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart even though ours is pretty nice, even the employees. I don't like the way Wal-Mart has been underselling other stores to draw in business and how it's hurting those stores. We joke that eventually there will only be Wal-Mart but the idea makes me cringe.

We very rarely shop at Walmart but last night we were out late and it was open so we stopped by to buy a birthday present for an early morning party today. We went in for a gift and card and came out with: PJs and robe for DD, PJs and robe for DS, PJs for DH and PJs for myself! The grand total was $105.00. Complain all you want about Walmart, and I too have done ALOT of complaining, but PJs for all plus 2 robes, a birthday gift and card for $105 is a pretty good deal! AND...nothing was on sale!

I just read somewhere online that Wal-Mart's sales for November were absolutely horrible. I would imagine a lack of customer service and store appearance would have a lot to do with it.

I do a lot of price comparing. Completely take away the grocery part of Wal-Mart and Target kicks Wal-Mart's butt on clearance. For example, Bratz. We bought a Bratz doll at Target for $2.44 on clearance. That same Bratz doll is at our Wal-Mart right now for $20. The clothes that are cheaper are cheaper for a reason - the quality is cheap. I love the Children's Place for kid's clothing. If you watch sales at the Children's Place you can get clothes cheaper than Wal-Mart (Wal-Mart's good clothes like Mary Kate and Ashley). Same goes for Target. I think the selection at Wal-Mart is bad also. I think Target does such a better job of marketing.

Another Target lover here! A new Super Walmart just opened in our town. DH and I went in once and we won't return. Nothing in there impressed me at all and I've never liked their quality for kids' clothes. Concrete floors, no decor whatsoever and not a salesperson to be found when we actually did have a question about something. Can't see myself ever going back there.

Well, I guess I am one of the few, I LOVE WALMART!!! I hate Target. Guess it just depends on where you live. Our Walmart here is great. The people are always friendly and kid with my kids when we go in. They even will let you check out anywhere in the store (not just at the front of the store), that way you hardly ever have to stand in line.

I don't like Walmart at all either. The store always looks like a bomb hit it. The isles are very narrow with to much merchandise cramped in. I go to Target, where it's more spread out and I can move my cart without feeling like an obstacle course.
