Well not since was was 17 I have been going but 7 yrs ago I lost my eye sight in my left eye and still went to Disney. Well the outcome of that was I have MS but I could still go to a place that makes me smile and forget think or should I say put in the back of my mind. While I was there I used to cover my right eye to see if I could see anything, well you should of seen me, the 6th days I was there I was in epcot and like every other day I covered my eye and I started to see images of the big ball in Epcot. talk about happiness andthis happening in my favorite place. Ok point in case, that has meaning to me I got my eyesight back while in Disney so I have this special spot in my heart for a place that is truly magical.:D :Pinkbounc :sunny: :wave2:

It is special for me because DH and I both share the love for disney. And now my kids do too.:D

It's the time that I can get away and not worry about so much. I don't have to clean or make dinner and I can relax. We do so much together while there and that really is special. DH and I both love Disney. We belong to DVC so we don't spend a lot of time in the parks but enjoy the pools, bike riding, going out to dinner, etc.

The whole place is magical. It makes me smile, relax, feel good, and act like a kid again.

Plus, it is the ONLY time my husband flew in an airplane. Right there is magic!

It's where our family celebrated Marie's breast cancer recovery/remission, such great memories of the four of us, celebrating life.

It was our family vacation we took right before dh got activated to go to Iraq.

My dd and I talk about that vacation often since it is such a special memory for us

My thoughts exactly! It's a relaxing fantasy place for me. As soon as I get there, I swear I can feel the stress leave my shoulders (which always seems to be there!). I love the smells, the sights, the sounds and the thought behind everything. It's not like every other amusement park where it's a cookie-cutter layout and they slapped it together in a year. Walt and his team put time, effort and love into building and maintaining Disney and I feel that every time I go.

Its special to us simply because its Disney and the best place to be in the world..other than home

Because I always always always have a wonderful time there! and because I can act like a kid and no-one else thinks it's strange--because they are doing it too! and because I can see the joy I'm feeling reflected in my niece or nephew's eyes! and just because!

It (to steal a line from John Denver) fills up my senses.

It bring me to place where I can leave the real world behind for just a little while and be with people I love.

Some people dont get the Magic but for those of us that do there is no greater feeling.

I was a teenager when WDW opened. I can remember watching a speical program about it and thinking "some day, I'm going to see that."

I was 34 when I finally visited in 1989 with my DH and two kids. For me, it's the culmination of a dream. We've been back at least once a year since then--sometimes three or four times!

Every time I visit I am reminded that dreams really DO come true and that, sometimes, patience and hard work pay off in the most magnificent ways.

to me, Disney (both World and Land) used be places I went to have fun...my parents frequently took me to DisneyLand when I was a child and I just became a Disney lover!

But now Disney has a different place in my heart. It's where my DH and I reunited after 10 years of being apart. We were standing on Main Street in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle in DisneyLand watching the fireworks for Believe. As he held me, we both realized that we were supposed to be together and nothing else mattered. My heart swelled and tears ran down my face as I knew that my life would be empty without him.

Then one year later, almost to the day, we were married in a chapel in Kissimmee and spent an amazing honeymoon at WDW. I had been there so many times, but never got to see how truly romantic WDW could really be!

And now, when I think of Disney, I get all emotional and remember the love that was rediscovered right there on Main Street...

Lots and lots of reasons, starting with childhood memories. I have great memories of WDW from when I was around 5 or 6. Going with my parents and their friends...traveling down there for baton contests with other twirlers, then I started going with my aunt and uncle when my parents got divorced...their children didn't want to go anymore, or couldn't...(too old, starting families...etc). Then going with my dad and step-mom/step-sis, brother when we were older. Then I started going on my own, with friends...just the "girls". Now that's been a tradition for about 7 years or so.

This past May, I finally got to take MY son, age 3, for the first time. Something I've always dreampt of doing. It was a quick trip, planned fast...so we stayed off site (won't do that again!) but it was priceless!

I love feeling comfortable...relaxed, as funny as that may sound. I forget the real world when I'm there, which is such therapy. I know where I'm going, everyone is mostly friendly and easy going...it's WARM (Wisconsin weather BITES!)...it's a fantasy world where I feel like I'm in a story book. I've got some many wonderful memories and feelings, that I could probably never not go. I think it's in my blood!

:teeth:

I Can't wait to take my son again...he just loved it.

:D

There are a lot of reasons, but I can sum it all up by saying this:

There is nothing and nowhere in the wrold that gives me the satisfaction and that sense of magic that Disney does for me. To me, it is larger than life and we are all the characters that continue to make it grow.

I still like it, but its not the same for me anymore

Poop Duddy, that was the perfect answer, so truthful, it makes me feel even better about you. :D
