I just posted this on another thread last night, but here goes.....
DD8 and I just went to DL for a few days after a business trip I had out in LA. I went to DL once about 12 years ago and she's never been. Because of her sleep schedule on past trips, we've also never seen Disney fireworks. We decided that we really wanted to see the fireworks this time around. I read about a dessert buffet sit-down deal for Fantasmic and was told that if we booked the earlier show, we could also sit for the fireworks. COOL! Well, it was a lot of money for us, but I also have a serious knee issue that would have made staking out a spot early enough difficult, so I decided to splurge. I booked and the CM was specific about telling me I needed to bring my confirmation number, the credit card I used to book, and a photo ID to the check-in desk at the seating location. I wrote all that down, doublechecked, etc.....
Well, we got there 90 minutes ahead of time. Spent about 30 minutes talking with DD on a nearby bench before they opened the check-in desk. We were 2nd in line.

Well, when I get to the front of the line, I give them all of my IDs and such and the guy just says "What's this?" I explained and he told me that I had to present all of that at a ticket booth *outside* the park, not at checkin. I explained the knee problem and asked if the confirmation number would help, but no. So, there I was, hanging on to DDs hand as we wound our way through the gathering crowd to get out of the park, get through the ticket line, get back in the entrance line, and wind our way through the now even thicker crowd. My knee hurt so bad, I just wanted to cry. We made it back and were now next to last to get in - and wound up in seats that had an obstructed view that we probably could have equalled by being behind people out in the crowd. On top of which, several desserts were pretty stalish.
All of this could have been avoided if I'd been told to check in at the ticket booth, not the event itself. I would have been happy to do that as we entered the park the first time. sigh........ I'm glad we saw the shows, but it was not quite the experience I was hoping for. Ah well.....
