Why didn't Jennifer Hudson help relocate her family......

This is such a terrible tragedy! I had hopes they would find her 7 year old nephew. :sad1: At a time when this young woman was celebrating her success with the movie, she is having to deal with the violent loss of her family. I can't imagine what she is going thru. My thoughts and prayers are with Jennifer at this time!

First, don't flame me no one should ever have their lives taken, and in the most horrific manner and that poor young child it is a tragedy

But in all the news reports you hear neighbors talk about how they didn't think anything about hearing gunshots because it was common place in the neighborhood it was obviously a bad area

Ok, so here is my comment couldn't Ms. Hudson had some sort of arrangements to move her family into some sort of better area to live?? What is fame and money for---I just feel she should have gotten/helped her family into a better area of the city---it was a bad neighborhood.

I heard Jennifer wanted her mom to move from that neighborhood but her mom didn't want to move. She was happy where she lived. Jennifer did buy her a new car. They showed the car on the news. I've also heard other stars moms don't always want to leave their roots. They prefer to stay in the home they raised there family. If I remember correctly Will Smith's parents stayed in the house he grew up in Philly. My heart & prayers goes out to the Hudson family. I was hoping the nephew would be alive. Who is soooo heartless to kill an innocent child. How cruel :sad2: !

A young boy/child has been found dead in the back of the hidden white Suburban they have been looking for. The Cook County Cornoror isn't releasing details yet, but all signs point to the body being the nephew.

This is such a tragedy.

This wasn't a stray bullet through the window. Sadly that happens too often in Englewood. This was about the people, not the place. Hudson had offered a $100,000 reward for the return of her nephew. I suspect had the mother wanted to leave the neighborhood, she could have done so. There are plenty of affordable and safe suburbs.

I was wondering the same thing. But I read where the family said they were not going to let Jennifer's fame affect/change them. (I don't remember the exact words)

Sometimes no matter what people like to live in areas that are not safe. My BIL has been given options to move from a similar area. Instead they decided to stay and raise their 4 children. The oldest is 15 and has already had many brushes with the law. The next boy is following in his brothers footsteps. Sometimes people just like the lifestyle. Many older people do not want to leave a house they have had a long time and remember how "nice the neighborhood used to be."
As for this situation, domestic violence can hit anywhere anytime. If this guy wanted to hurt this family he would have no matter where they lived. My prayers are with this family.

It has been confirmed to be him. So sad all around.

All reports also indicate that her family didn't want to leave Englewood. But like so many other's have said, that wouldn't have helped in this situation.

Maybe they didn't want to leave the area they knew as their home?

Kimya

Thank you.

People set roots in Chicago communities and dont leave. Obama still lives in Hyde Park which isnt too far from Englewood (where Jennifer Hudson's family lived)

And if all the information that has come to light (it was her sister's husband) it doesnt matter if she was living in a posh Chicago suburb. He would have known where they lived and committed this horrific crime, there.

Just because it was a bad neighborhood doesn't mean that Jennifer wasn't willing to help them move elsewhere. To blame her for her mother living there is ridiculous. I'm sure she WOULD have used her fame and fortune. Her mother didn't want to.

How is it NOT judgmental? Have you ever tried to make someone do something they didn't want to do?

I'm not in any way blaming Jennifer! I was only stating that is not a neighborhood to bring a child up in (gunshots etc) I also stated that her Mom did not want to leave the area. I think the OP has a question for which she got an answer....Mom didn't want to leave. Again, I'M NOT BLAMING JENNIFER :confused3

They just said on the news the little boy had also been shot. (I'm guessing probably because he could identify his grandmother's & uncle's killer.)

BTW, the little boy belonged Jennifer's sister, not her mother. Is it a person responsibility to help their siblings when they come into wealth? :scratchin

I'm not gonna go thru any replies... and your first line pretty much said what I was thinking....
The last thing anyone should do is place blame.... Some people stay down to earth, and just because they get rich doesn't mean they leave the place they call home. Hell, there's gunshots everywhere.... find a place that doesn't have a crime of some sort and everyone will go...

I really hate the whole blame the victim mentaliity I see so much of. If it was me I wouldn't of lived there.... If it was me I wouldn't of dated so and so..... If it were me I wouldn't raise a kid in that neighborhood....
The reality is these people are crime victims and sometimes bad crap happens to good people and can happen anywhere, none of us are immune no matter what pedestal we put ourselves on.

OP, this wasn't a random act. Wasn't it a domestic violence situation?? So how can you say it was Jennifer's fault for not moving them?? Living in that neighborhood didn't cause this tragedy. :sad2:
