Why did you want a Disney Wedding?

Much like the rest there were a few reasons, some similar and some a bit different:

1) I did not want to invite hundreds of people, and I LOVE the fact that we are limited to 20 with escape....made it so easy not to hurt anyones feelings.
2) We both love Disney, as does my whole family. I mean, how could you not?
3) His family would likely never go to WDW due to budget constraints but are the type of people who we KNOW will love it there, so we are bringing them along (we are DVC members so it's pretty easy to do so).
4) His family are quite religious, and mine aren't, neither are myself and my DFi, so this was a great way to have a non-religious ceremony without hurting anyones feelings.
5) I am kind of OCD about overplanning every detail of my normal life - I like the fact that it's so easy....and for once I am forced to relinquish control over something :)
6) You can't beat the price! Really a wedding in a small town with a reception will cost the same!
7) M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E! (singing the song in my head right now)...I decided right at the start that I really want Mickey and Minnie at my wedding - and they don't seem like the types to travel to Nova Scotia for my wedding if I have it here!
8) Randy Chapman....need I say more?
9) The ability to have pictures taken with my all time favorite night-time fireworks extravaganza in the background - Wishes!

There are more reasons, but that's the gist of it....I am so happy with our decision and can't wait - I get to book my date next month, can't believe it's here already!

My marriage will not be legal since I am marrying another woman, but the fact that Walt Disney World is known for being gay-friendly is a big factor in our decision to make Disney part of our celebration this month.

Another thing is that we decided that we wanted more of a family vacation than a traditional honeymoon, and our family includes friends who are closer with us than most of our blood relatives. By the time we got finished paying for food, photography, catering sites, and all sorts of things like that for a hometown wedding it would add up to a great deal of money without being much fun. We decided that we will have a Christmas party for our reception at a friend's lovely home in Tampa and then all head to Disney World together. Is it expensive for an entire wedding party? Yes. Would we save that much with Disney out of the equation? Not really because our tickets mean that Disney is going to entertain everybody for us while the deals are pretty good at the resorts rights now.

The final thing is that we get to be guests at our own wedding because the larger part is taking place at Disney World. We are keeping things simple at our friend's house.
