Our first family trip to the Poly. that cost about $8,000 was enough to get us to buy in.
) we like a few more amenities and we don't want to pound it in the parks like we've doing the last several years. We've tried other vacations and yet we always return to Disney. It has been getting more expensive for us and DVC was a good way (although not initially) to curb our costs, give us the ability to travel more frequently and visit some other places on our "to do" list less expensively. (yes, we know it may not be the best use of our points, but that's us)
that my wife loved Disney like me . I have been going to Disney so much that the kids & wifey would not be mad if we never go again
.Of course that will never happen I have been renting for the past three years and I just got tired of renting . I love Disney like no other and could not imagine a year without that trip so I just purchased 160points so I can enjoy my Vice
in peace
So, I sat there as he grilled the DVC rep and then waited on pins and needles overnight while he thought about it. He agreed to it the next day....so, it all worked out.
. I finally realized that I think this is a goal I want to work towards. My business is big on goals and dreams and this is something in a few years I want to be able to pay for for my family. Convincing dh is another issue. One thing I know he is against is the "timeshare" deal. But I keep trying to tell him you aren't locked into X week in X month. There are other issues too. We have never vacationed at Disney. We both have done one dayers but not a Disney vacation. So I'm hoping after we do one (soon hopefully), he'll think different.
So, why did you buy in? Was your spouse for or against it at first?
We were able to pull off buying the 180 points through resale, knew we'd go at least once a year, liked moderate to deluxe accommodations, and wanted to take people with us that otherwise might not afford it. AND, give something to the kids later on down the line.
