Why did my thread get moved?

Why did my thread about cheap diets get moved? You guys are the smartest on the boards! I wanted advice from here?

you asked for cheap diet ideas does that not make it budget friendly?

OP I was just going to look for your thread. I just posted on another thread about inexpensive pot luck dinner ideas and that one got moved too.

Is this normal?

Threads get moved to when they are more appropriate to another forum on the DIS. The Cooking forum is the best place to look for recipes. The W.I.S.H. forum is a better source for advice on diets and healthy living. Adding the words "inexpensive" or "affordable" doesn't mean that the topics are most suited to the Budget Board.

I mean this with no disrespect, but isn't that kind of like moving a thread about saving money while buying a car, to a board about cars? It seems you could do that with any topic, since money is used to buy "things". I didn't add the word affordable to make it fit this board, I thought this was the best venue because the people on this board would be most likely to know of affordable ways to diet... Thr is a lot of information all over the net about how to lose weight, I wanted info specifically about doing it on a budget..

Point understood. However, since the DIS does not have a forum exclusively dedicated to the car-buying process, the Budget Board is pretty much as appropriate to the subject as the Community Board would be.

The DIS does has a forum that is specifically targeted at dieting and healthy living. And that woud be where that discussion should be focused. I think that you don't give the W.I.S.H. members enough credit when you say that they would be less likely to know how to diet affordably. But in order to make the thread easier for Budget Board readers to find and reply to your thread, a redirect link is left for them to follow it to the new forum.
