Why did Mattel not include the Flit rings in the 1995 Disney's Sun Colors Pocahontas dolls at first?

When I bought my Mattel Sun Colors Pocahontas doll as a little girl in 1995 I noticed that the Flit ring that the Pocahontas doll had was not included and it had a note telling people to call Mattel directly to recieve the Flit ring by mail for free but later versions of the Sun Colors Pocahontas dolls came with the ring. Was this due to production issues? So does this mean my Sun Colors Pocahontas doll is a very collectible first edition?

Is yours brand new in the box or did you play with it? If you played with it it looks like they are selling for under $10 on eBay. If it’s brand new in the box then $40-50. I hope that helps you decide if it’s worth selling.
