Why did it take me so long to start watching The Office?

I love this show!! I can't stop laughing, Michael Scott as a boss is hilarious, and it seems like it really could be a Scraton, PA office.
I haven't routed for two people to get together so much since Ross and Rachel.
Go Jim and Pam!!

I can't wait to see it again after the Olympics are over!!

It's a great show, isn't it? I was doubtful since I am such a huge fan of the british version, but I've been able to separate them and love them both. I recommend checking out last season, its on a dvd, I think only 6 or so episodes and some really wonderful stuff. Also, check out the british version...it has a different feel than the american version, but still there are a lot of similarities. If you like Pam/Jim, you'll love Dawn/Tim. :)

Tim and Dawn on the Christmas special was probably my favorite tv moment ever. I cannot wait for Jim and Pam!! I love the British version but I think the American version is equally good in different ways. Best show on television. I cannot wait for it to come back on.

I did a marathon watching all of the episodes up till the Valentine's show.

I'll have to check out the BBC version. Is it out on DVD, or can you catch it on the BBC channel?

Wasn't that the best? I pleaded with the folks on the UK community board here to tell me what happened right after it aired over there (about a year before it did here). even knowing what was coming, it was still incredible. woo-hooo!

As for Pam/Jim, I wonder if they will ever get together. Since the US version will stretch out for a while (knock wood) should they or shouldn't they? I supposed Ross/Rachel did it successfully (by getting together then splitting up and still maintaining a spark).

If you didn't see the extras on the US version dvd, check them out, too. even the commentary was roll on the floor funny. there were some good deleted scenes, too, if I remember correctly.

As for the british version, yes, it is out on dvd. The extras on the dvds are worth the price alone. OMG, Ricky Gervaise's music video alone was worth the price. lol. It also runs occasionally on BBC America, and I know in Boston our local pbs station runs it on saturday nights at 10pm.

If you end up renting or buying the dvds, make sure to get the christmas special, too. there are 2 seasons of the uk office, about 6 eps each, plus a bonus christmas special. really a fantastic series.

If you missed it, try to get your hands on the "racial sensitivity training" episode from last year. Priceless.

That was good, but I think the Basketball one was my favorite. Or the Alliance. hmmm...so many to choose from. the only one I didn't like was the pilot, and well, you just can't duplicate the original. It was when they found their own groove that the show really came into its own.

I'm putting it on my Netflix queue right now!

let me know how you like it! I know some americans say they have trouble understanding them, but honestly I didn't. if you do, you can always throw the subtitles on. I think I read/watch enough british stuff that I get the slang, etc, now. my husband, on the other hand, appreciates the subtitles.

funny you should mention netflix. I just checked it out now and they do have all 3 listed...they just call the christmas special The Office Special. make sure to add that one, too.

If it can be done successfully these writers are the ones to do it. But I think a final episode get together is probably the way to go... although of course I wish they'd do it sooner.

I love the deadpan looks that Jim gives the "camera man" when someone says something that's too much info...

Also when Jim put Dwight's desk supplies in the vending machine and the entire "injury" episode. Michael's presentation to corporate in New York was hilarious too! So many laughs...

spoiler for upcoming us office ep (highlight to read). I read in EW today that apparently there is a take-your-daughter to work day ep and Michael actually sings, "teach your children well" to them. can you imagine? I laughed just reading it.

I saw that in Entertainment Weekly this week. It sounds hilarious. Steve Carrell seems like such a down to earth guy doesn't he?

The British Office is all queued up. Now the waiting is the hardest part! I'll check back in after I've seen the episodes. I'm also going to see if I can set up my TiVo to find some of the BBC shows.

That was great. I had a presentation at corporate a couple days after that episode and used a couple of Michael's lines.

Dwight leaves to pick up Michael, wrecks, barfs, gets a concussion and continues to drive.

Also episode where Michael hands out employee awards at an Applebees.

Did you use the U2 music too? :teeth: I loved his credits at the end..."A Michael Scott joint"

My DH is addicted to both of the OFFICES. He Tevo'd The Office & found the British Version by mistake. He thought he died & went to heaven. I love the Scranton Version... not so sure about the UK one. It's a little to much for me.

I totally love the British version of the Office; I went out and purchased the box set. I only caught the first episode of the American version and didn’t really like it; maybe I should give it another try.
