Why couldn't I log on to the boards?

For the last week I have been unable to log on to any of these boards, the pages were just taking ages to load and then locking up. Is it just me or did it affect any one else?
It has been so frustrating not being able to have my fix of the boards and now its going to take ages for me to catch up on a week's posts!

Hi Ali - is everything working okay now?
I've not heard of anyone else having a problem over the past week, but it is definitely worth posting on the Tech Support forum to see if they can shed some light.

Are you on AOL by any chance? There are a number of us using AOL who've had terrible difficulty. I now log on to AOL as usual, but then go straight into Internet Explorer and everything (slowly ) works.

I sympathise, I too couldn't log in, only earlier this evening. All is well now? We have broad band (not Aol).

I tried to view your replies last night and once again found everything locking up!
This morning everything is OK again, I shall just have to stay permanantly logged on to this site!
I'm not on AOL or broadband. My browser is Internet Explorer and service provider is Blueyonder.

Same here i'm with AOL as well, and can only get in through internet explorer, it's so frustrating.

I have had exactly the same problems in the past.
I could go anywhere on the internet except on these boards and when I did get here it was awful-juddery and VERY slow, then it would knock out the rest of the internet until I switched off the computer and started again.
The only cure for me was switching to Broadband and touch wood- no problems since.

After my last post, I've had yet another week of not being able to log on to these boards. (Everything else on the internet is working fine). This time was different in that all I got was a Bad Gateway message each time I tried. I see from someone else's thread that I should delete my cookies so I shall try that next. I'm not prepared to go onto broadband just yet.
I have my trip report ready to post but I don't want to go ahead until I can be sure of accessing the boards.
