OK, I have not gone back to WW yet and I haven't been eating well at all. I feel like I am out of control - and I really hate that feeling. One minute I say to myself "You can do it! You can be disciplined enough to lose that weight," then on the other hand I find myself eating cookies and chocolate and junk. It's driving me crazy! I also seem to find reasons to put off going back to WW. This week it was DH's birthday, last week it was that I thought I was pregnant and then found out I wasn't - I mean, come on! I could find an excuse every minute of every day. I really need someone to kick me in the butt and MAKE me do it.

Ok, I know I can do it. It's just getting to the start line and taking off from there. I have to think of my motivation being

1. My family
2. My health - I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my son which puts me at a higher risk of developing diabetes down the line.
3. I want to look like I used to. I want to be a size 10 - not a 14.

So I am here, looking to my fellow DISers and WISHers for a little extra support, motivation and help. I am going to go to WW tomorrow and get the new flex points program. I am going to start fresh this week and not let any excuses prevent me from having a good week.

If anyone has any tips, PLEASE share! I'd love to hear from anyone who is on WW and the flex points. I am also going to go to Curves 3 times next week.

Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!!

Hug hug hug!!!

You can get remotivated!!! :) And you did the right thing in posting here!

I joined WW online about 4 weeks ago and I love it. The first 3 weeks I did ok during the week but went overboard on the weekends, so I just maintained. Then I got serious and went a whole week and a weekend within my points (and used flex points and activity points) and I had a nice loss, which was enough to keep me going in the right direction.

Take it moment by moment, don't beat yourself up if you eat more than you think you should one day. Start working out! :) At the end of the day focus on the GREAT choices you made (instead of the one lousy choice you might have made). Be positive, keep telling yourself you can do it.

My mother started WW 3 weeks ago (unoficially). She'll be 61 tomorrow, never exercised a day in her life and lived on cake, ice cream and cigarettes for the last 20 years or so. She's lost 6 pounds, she is working out with hand weights and has already developed some muscle definition (I'd say she's put on 1-2 pounds of muscle through her entire body) and she's starting to add walking to her exercise routine. She's full of energy, loves the variety of food that she is eating, her skin looks better and she's changing from marshmallow to fit and trim! If she can do it, anyone can do it!

So chin up, you know you have it in you. YOU tell yourself that you are CHOOSING to do this and that you know you can do it! :)::yes::

First of all {{HUGS}}. Been there done that. I have just broken the 200 mark for the 1st time in 6 years, so I know all about losing motivation. I have no magic answers. I can only tell you take it one day at time, one meal at a time, one snack at a time. Be kind to yourself and try not to feel guilty for falling off the wagon. That is self defeating and has only caused me to spiral further out of control. But start again, bite the bullet and go weigh at WW. It might make you angry, but then again, it might not be as bad as you think.

I am trying to exercise more. The one thing I have taken away from Dr. Phil's interviews is....make yourself exercise before you do anything else. When I come in the door from work, I change clothes and hop right on the treadmill on mondays, wednesday, thursdays. I exercise on saturday and sunday. During the week, my kids 8 and 6 can either play, do homework etc, but I am taking this 30-40 minutes for ME! Sometimes, we do dd's math flashcards, while I am walking. However warning, this can almost be hazardous to your health! Lol;) But the point of my ramblings is start small and build big. Change your momentum to go in a positive direction and as you see good results, you will want to keep going!!

You can do it!!!:sunny:

Get rid of that tempting food that is in your house right now. When you get an urge to eat something you shouldn't go brush your teeth with the mintiest toothpaste you can find.It is harder to want to mess up the minty clean feeling in your mouth.

You can do this!! I did WW originally 20 years ago and lost 43 pounds. In those 20 years I gained twice that back but now I have lost 46 of that on Atkins. My original motivation was to get slim for my 25th reunion in 2004 but now it is to also be healthier and not have to shop in the Plus size department.

 • Journal, journal, journal.
 • Drink your water until you splash when you walk.
 • Get rid of the junk until you can get by with a taste.
 • Journal, journal, journal.
 • Park your car at the farthest end of the lot and walk.
 • Go get another drink of water.
 • Have faith that you CAN do it.
 • Make this board your "home" page.
 • Put that water in a refillable mug.
 • Use Fitday to help you----->
 • Journal, journal, journal!

Thanks so much for all the kind words and motivation! I'm heading to WW this morning. I know I am NOT going to be happy with the number on the scale, but hopefully I'll be angry enough with myself to get it in gear!

I will put my water in my refillable mug. ;) That will help to keep me motivated to lose 15-20 lbs. by February, which is my next Disney trip.

Thank you all again! I'll let you know how this week goes.........

That's the spirit, Scanne!!! I know you can do it!! Take baby steps and before you know it, you will be back in the groove!

Onward and downward you go!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

scanne,

I will start with you today. I also need some motivation, and could use an accountability partner. We are going to WDW the first week of Dec. and I would love to be down 10-15 lbs. We can do it!!!! So PM me, or e-mail me and let me know how you are doing. Plus for everyone else on the Wish board, I want to do the marathon with all of you in 2005. So, tomorrow I will have you add me to your list!

Thanks for all the support,

Angee

you have helped remotivate me too! I haven't taken the time to spend on WISH as much as I'd hoped to once school start - projects have escalated, etc. I know that spending time on this board keeps me feeling accountable and excited at my program. I'm once again recomitting to myself to get back totally with the program, my first full week on flex pts (I do WW on my own) so girfriends, hang in there. Let's get through today and then we'll think about tomorrow.

Angee - you girls become PM buddies if you don't have one! That system helps me tremendously, and my buddies are wonderful support!!!

scanne, I have been toying with the idea of trying to diet again and I must say that your post really hit home with me. I can totally relate to your three motivations for losing weight as I also had gestational diabetes and my ob/gyn loves to remind me of the much higher risk I face for developing diabetes later in life. I was so vigilant about eating correctly for my daughter while I was pregnant but for some reason I cannot manage to do it for myself. :o I also would give anything to look the way that I used to look. I don't even have that much to lose...40 pounds would do it for me. No more excuses.

Anyway, good luck in your weight loss attempt. Know that you are not alone. I know that it definitley helps me to know that others are sharing the same frustrations and hopefully successes. Thank you so much for your post. You have truly inspired me to start again today!;)

scanne,

Hang in there, you can do it. I have faith in you!!

Here is an article from WW's about getting back on the weight loss wagon.

Good luck, keep the faith!

This is a journey, not a destination!

I started WW about 5 weeks ago. The program seems to be working great for me. I really don't feel deprived and if I want to indulge in my cravings I can. There really is nothing you can't eat. I even manage to eat a Big Bacon Classic from Wendy's once a week after I come back from the bar. The first week was a little tough b/c I wasn't used to eating proper portion sizes but it does get easier. Just remember we are all here for you if you need us.
