When I booked my DFTW I made reservations for my honeymoon so we could sign our contract. We only made reservations for the 5 days we'd be staying after the wedding because we weren't sure where we would be staying prior but I bought a 5 day ticket package knowing that we would use 4 days on our honeymoon and 1 day before our wedding with the family. I didn't, however, think about the fact that it would be connected to my GF reservation and room key. When I booked my reservation at All-star movies for before the wedding, I asked the CM if it would be possible to combine the reservations so I could use a park pass for one of the days I was at ASM. He said no, that I would be required to purchase a 1 day pass instead. ***??? I don't think so! When I've already spent as much as I have, why would I spend another $65 on a one day ticket and why does it matter when I use my pass? I'm staying on disney property, aren't I? I just dont understand. He suggested I talk to Juliana about it..why should this be her problem? Why can't they do this? :headache:

Why don't you just take off the ticket part of your reservation? Keep it room only. Sure you will have a new conf # but just give that to Julianna. They you could get whatever tickets you want. Or is there more on your package?

It does stink...it's one thing to have to buy the extra ticket but then I'd also have an extra day from my GF reservation that I won't use. I really wasn't thinking when I made the reservation...I'm used to having separate tickets since we've never done the dining plan...I think I'm screwed here. :(

I can't be the only person who has stayed at two different hotels in one visit...you'd think they could accomodate.

we had the same problem....we are staying at the GF before the wedding and AKL after and ran into the same problem....unfortunately we just decided that we would only go to the parks after checking into the AKL b/c we could not transfer our tickets!

You can get the tickets pulled from your package reservation a day or two ahead of time. But you need to do this at Guest Services at one of the parks.

Really? I wonder why he didn't tell me that? Is there a charge for this?

No charge.

Why didn't he tell you that? Because he is in reservations and doesn't know.

Just wanted to let you know that not all CMs in Guest Relations know how to do this. If you get one of those not-in-the-know who tell you it cannot be done, ask for the GR manager. I know it can be done. I have had it done last August.

Yes, we found out recently that the CM's don't always know what they are doing. Last week, one of our guests called group reservations because they wanted to switch hotels (both hotels are in our room block) and the CM told them they couldn't do that because there were not enough rooms blocked off at the new hotel (they were available, but not blocked off by us). Well we went through our planner and it was fixed within 24 hours -- the CM just didn't know what they were doing.

Thanks...I'm really hoping I can get this all straightened out. DF got kind of ticked and said that if they couldn't accomodate such a simple request then we'd cancel our $5000 reservation at GF and spend the min 4 days at All Star Movies and then take the honeymoon to Savannah (which we were already doing 2 days in). I REALLY don't want to do that and I'm sure he'll calm down some...I did...but I do understand his point. There ought to be something they can do. I'm going to talk to my WC about what Tigger said and I'm sure we can work it out.

Well...after much research and making quite a few phone calls, this is what we decided on...

We cancelled our reservation at GF and made a new one for a room only. we then added 2 annual passes and the Disney Dining Experience. Can you believe it actually came out cheaper that way AND we now have AP's (which we likely won't use, but who knows...maybe we'll surprise the kids next year!)!! The price difference isn't THAT much but it does give us more flexibilty plus all the perks passholders get. If you factor in the discounts, we are coming out slightly ahead...and if they happen to release a passholder discount for our resort then it will be all the sweeter!!! :cool1:

Keep an eye out for the discount codes. Check www.mousesavers.com for uptodate info. Or a site like www.passporter.com too. You'll have to call to see if they have any discounts available at the resort. Hoping you can snag something! We've had huge savings using an AP, but with crowd levels rising back to pre 9/11 levels the discounts are getting less and less.

Good luck!

Yay! So glad you got this all figured out Diane! I am glad you'll get to stay at the GF after all! Take lots of pics as it is my dream resort! I am sooo excited about getting AP's with our package for the potential discounts, even though we'll probably never be able to use them again either! We'll be too broke the entire year after the wedding to make it down to FL again!

Very happy for you!

Are you able to buy the DDP if you're getting an AP rate on your room??

I don't think so. In fact I don't think you can get the DDP unless you buy at least a one day ticket...it's not available with the AP's. You can, however, but a Disney dining experience card and save 20% at most restaurants on all food and beverages (including alcohol). There are only a few black out dates for the DDE (holidays, I think) but it's good for up to 10 people otherwise.

Ok, that's what I thought. Now after rereading the earlier post, I see you've got DDE, not DDP and are hoping for an AP rate on the room... it all makes sense now! :)
