I just don't understand why all of those people are still down in New Orleans!!! Can they not call on schools in nearby states to hold off school & use those school busses to haul people to nearby cities? Where? I don't know but out of New Orleans. I know many are blaming the president for this and he is partly to blame for being so slow but I think the officials in that state need to be accountable as well. Afterall, it is their state, they knew the risks and should have been prepared for the aftermath. I just don't understand why they are still there. It's just heartbreaking.

Many of the stranded are surrounded by water - lots of water. School busses can't drive well through water.

I agree. They should all be out by now. Boats, busses, helicopters (or as the presidents likes to say over and over again- choppers, sounds like a Harley type helicopter), air boats, whatever it takes. It should be done by now.
