Why aren't there any proud mom and dad threads this year?

Ok-but remember you asked-My DS 17 graduated from high school this morning-He was valedictorian of his class. He recieved academic full rides at two universities and academic scholarships at four more. He is a Presidential Academic Award winner, A Marine Corps outstanding Scholar, a Rotary Outstanding Scholar, was the outstanding Math, Science and Language arts student of his senior class. He is a Colorado Class 4A All State Track and field athelete in both the high jump and 1600 meter relay.
My DS 13 recieved awards in Math, Science, social studies and has had perfect attendance since 2nd grade. He completed two years of math in one and His SAT Score was higher than 87% of the high school seniors in colorado.
(both of my sons are public school students!)

:D Congratulations! That is a real accomplishment.

Well I'd love to post what my son's award is that he came home with (third grade), but HE doesn't even know for sure.:) He came home with some trophy and something about the 'highest average' in something to do with reading. Trust a nine year old to leave you in the dark.....:)

Not an academic award, but still a very proud moment for this Grandma.

Nathan hit a Grand Slam at his baseball game last week.

Our school has the accelerated reader program. My first grade dd has read 282 books since the beginning of the school year! :D For the last 2 quarters she has read the most books out of the entire class.

My daughter just graduated from college. She received the Golden L award. This is for making a GPA of 3.5 or better/4 for the past 6 or more semesters.
My son, who is in 11th grade got an award for his SAT scores. He will also be receiving a B in his Trig. class. We are just ecstatic about that. He was making terrible in Jan. We acquired a tutor and now he has a B. He made a 94 on his final. We are VERY proud of his progress.

My DS won the Biology award this year. He has really worked hard this year and will be taking 3 honors classes next year. We are so proud of him because he has always struggled until this year (he's a Freshman).

My DD's team won the state Destination Imagination contest in stucture and we just came back from the national finals where they placed 17th out of 31 teams. She is the stucture builder so she had to put many hours of work into building her structure. She also made flute choir as an eight grader when ususally they only accept 9th graders and older. She has made high honor roll all year and has perfect attendance.

I am so proud of both my kids and thanks for asking!

My DD is graduating High School this week and finishing her first year of college at the same time (dual enrollment program between High School and local Community College). She made the deans list at the college! After a rocky start academically her first two years in High school (too busy cheering) she really turned it around and in her last two years pulled her grades up enough to qualify for a bright futures scholarship! She is also my favorite person to take to Disney World!!
