Why are the boards so quiet?

It seems the boards are very quiet at the moment. I've not had chance to come on them for a few days and there were very few new messages.
Where is everybody?

The old UKDis as was is now at http://www.disneyinfo.co.uk
it isn't a part of the DIS but all the members still have strong links with these boards.

I'm fed up of all this secrecy, the Mods know where we are, lets be adult about this, we post on both boards.
I'm sorry if posting the link is against board rules but the first page of the boards has a big link back to these boards. The owners of the boards have gone out of their way to keep the links to these boards open.
I think we can work together, after all we are only talking a few members, these boards have in excess of 60000 registered members.

I don't like to miss out, you know - and all these Personal messages that seem to be going back and forwards have really confused me now! I clicked on the link from Girlypuff and it's taken me into the boards I'm already in!!

Have I lost the plot - am I in the right section ..... so many worries on a Friday night (that'll teach me not to go and have a swfit glass of vino down the yacht club, hic)

I know I've been asleep for eight hours, but I can still see and follow your link, Girlypuff, and it takes me to disneyinfo. Unless I've missed some 'events' during the night, I'm not sure what the perceived problem is.

Annie, to access your PM on the DIS site, go to the 'forum jump' box at the bottom left of this page, scroll to Private Messages and click, then check your inbox. Yes, you would need to register separately with disneyinfo as it is a separate site.

Girlypuff - I see your post with your link just fine. I saw it last night, and it's still right there now, unless you're talking about a different thread that I'm not yet aware of, but I'd be very surprised - threads are never locked or deleted without a PM or email being sent to explain the reasons why.

The only other thing I want to comment on at the moment is maybe your choice of words... the DisneyInfo site is nothing to do with the DIS. It's an independent site - it is NOT our old UK Boards, they are not the 'new' UK Boards...though there are a number of DIS'ers over there that everyone knows from the old boards- myself included.

Annie - that's why you're not registered there - they are not 'our' boards, just different ones.

Perhaps you mean that some of the frequenters of the old (and lost) UKDis are on that site as well as this one. But THIS is the new home of UKDis surely?

There was a breakaway board last year and we all agreed there was room for both - until one rogue member stepped way over the line and caused a division. I haven't had a chance to look at the 'new' forum yet but hope the same division by taking sides won't happen again.

I am a member of both boards and hope (hopefully not naively) that they wouldn't be in conflict with each other.

I don't think it's childish not to mention the other board here.The moderators know about the board and have no problem with DISers being members of both.But they have worked long and hard for DIS and I don't think it's fair to mention the other board if only out of respect.That is only my useless opinion!!

'Girlypuff' shouldn't presume to speak for all people who are members of both boards.If PM's and e-mails were sent to people to let them know regulars were using another board in addition to this one(I did this myself) thats one thing,but mentioning it over here in posts as an alternative,I don't think thats really on

I too am using both boards and love them both, and the people on them. Surely this is possible without any bad feeling? Its a big world....and a big web, isn't there room for us all???

I too am a member of both boards especially in the evening when the "new" UKDis boards are sometimes impossible to get onto....... Love 'em both and still feel part of ONE big happy family!!

Dave - you are absolutely spot on - this is the home of the UKDis, the new boards are an alternative that some of us are using when we find these boards frustratingly slow, but they are not The UK Dis and they were never intended to be - I think Dave (fatman) put it best when he said we had moved into a hotel while our own home was being renovated.

I am a member of both boards, and intend to remain so - Girlypuff, whoever they may be - is not speaking for the other boards, they just speak for themselves - I will be very upset if there is animosity between the boards, the admins on the new board have gone out of their way to keep things friendly.

I would like to give my total support to all moderators on both boards who have gone out of thier way to ensure that there was not going to be a them and us situation. And as of yet I do not think there is. I go on both boards, with no problems, and enjoy both equally.
