Why are my fast passes being canceled before Halloween Party?

I have now had 2 fastpass experiences cancelled. At first I had Space Mountain at 630-730 on Sept 20 (which is a party night)- I have party tickets and an annual pass. I received an email changing my Space Mountain to Tomorrowland Speedway at an earlier time. I didnt want this so I arranged Space Mountain at 230-330, already had SDMT for 340-440 and reserved Haunted Mansion from 5-6. I logged on tonight and my Haunted Mansion is just GONE. No replacement, no new time, just GONE. I emailed Disney but who should I call? I want my fastpasses back!

And they're back.

This is what happens when glitches collide. ;)

Here's the problem. Disney keeps canceling people's FP+ reservations for after 6:30 on party nights and then allowing those cancelled FP+ reservations to show as available in the system, so people continue to book and re-book them.

I know. This one might not even be the fault of their awful IT. Wouldn't you just love to know who thought any of this was a good idea at any point along that decision making timeline?

NO need to be rude and ignorant..

I picked up off another thread believe it or not HERE on the Disboards....who would have thought it to be false eh...
lol

Whether they did it before or not, they are cancelling only on MNSSHP party nights and not to only people who had tickets for the party but also for people who had park tickets for admission that day. So most probably it has to do with MNSSHP admission. It is a logical deduction that it is probably because they hope to get the people without party tickets out quickly and they had issues in the past with getting them out if they had fastpasses for something like 7DMT at 6:45. You can see that some use the "system" and will go in and then meander out past 7. It isn't nice but I suspect it causes the CMs headaches. Its not rocket science. Problem is the way they are doing it. Seems like they don't think anything out in advance. (For other examples look at the issues with the Food and Wine Premium Package bookings, people are so confused about the inclusions, exclusions, dates, and seminars.)

I had mine cancelled. I called the number on the email and spoke to someone who was not particularly pleasant but she transferred me to a wonderful CM who gave me a Select Experience pass for anytime that day. The one I had was also 7DMT but others noted it wasn't just associated with that attraction and they cancelled mine a few weeks ago about a week after the 60 day date. I just wonder why they don't have the foresight to remove the FP from inventory before the 60 day mark. This vacation has almost become like a job! Everyday there is some issue, and nothing can be booked at the same time. ADR's one time, FP another, and yet FW events another. God bless the people with spreadsheets, I can see why now! LOL.

They canceled my 7DMT fastpass for the 27th. I called the number on the email and a very nice CM gave me an anytime FP for mine train that day. When my sister talked to them to fix her missing FP the CM she spoke to said that they are trying to eliminate FP'S on party nights after 6pm. But who really knows?.

I heard you can try to call and get one added.

What we did was add a FP for 3-4 pm for Mickey in Town Hall. I heard they allow a 15 minute window, so I am hoping we will be able to make it.. at least this way we can use our 3 FP+ and not let one go to waste.

they usually cancel FPs after 4pm on a party night to get all the non party goers out of the park...they say 6.30pm but its usually 4pm.

They might be starting to do this, but traditionally it's not what is done. It's a total change if that's what they have started to do.

I think that's why it's better to answer a question when you have actual experience with the situation and not just pass on hearsay, which seems to happen a lot around here lately.

Well, the problem with Brand New Things is that no one actually has experience in it. There's often a period of time where all we have are guesses and thoughts. She was repeating what she had heard.

It's totally possible. But it's a massive change in the way they have done things. It's a BIG deal. If they are going to cancel out the last half hour of something that is included in peoples' tickets for that day, then they'd better cancel out the first half hour of party-ticket-holders' experience that day, too. Party-goers are already getting, what, 3 hours of free time in the parks? Oh well maybe we'd better watch to see if those free hours are gone, now, too, this year.

Seems like they don't think anything out in advance.

I don't think they do.

Or they have such a long-term, "blue sky", idea that they don't think about the rotten YEARS of in-between, being-created, changing-every-2-months, experiences guests and front lines CMs will have.

Just book 3:30-4:30, 4:30-5:30, 5:30-6:30.

It's not always easy/possible to just book exactly when you want on what you want.

Exactly ... the one we wanted most was Peter Pan and there was no availability for the half hours, only at the :45. Probably because of all the smart people on this board who knew to grab the other times!

Not a huge deal to us since I'm sure we can get to most everything we want during the party as we only will take time out for the parade. My son thinks meet and greets are torture so we can skip those. I would be furious though if I had day admission and one of the FP's I worked hard to get got changed to something else. As others have said, Disney shouldn't have allowed those to be booked in the first place but once they did, I think the burden is on them to figure out how to get those guests out of the park.

In theory what should happen is that if you have a party ticket you should NOT have ANY Fast Passes. While "unofficially" they let you in at 4 the tickets say 7 -?. And they should have closed the options for everyone else around 6.

But... it's Disney and doing the right thing is not really an option these days LOL!

I'm surprised that you can get FPs with just a party ticket and not a regular park ticket for that day. I am pretty sure I tried last year when we were in that same situation, just to see, and it wasn't an option for me.

I did it last year with no problem
