Don't know if there is a corollary or not, but I think that cynical people are far less happy than those who are not. Cynicism seems far more common among liberals. Cynicism seems like one of the more self-defeating, counterproductive of human traits.

I'll bet that if they had asked the questions differently they would have found that partisan people of any stripe are less happy than those who are less partisan.
