Why are AKL rooms so dark?

We stayed at Jambo for 10 days last month and I thought I was going to go insane because of the lack of lighting. Granted I've never been to Africa, but I'm guessing they all aren't stumbling around in the dark like we were in AKL..

It did not bother us at all, in fact kinda like it.

I purchased AKL sight unseen and on my first visit I stayed at jambo . I hated the darkness in the room and resort in general. I wish i knew how bad it was before i bought. i cannot imagine staying more than a couple days to see the animals . I prefer the light and airy resorts . The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed except for the lighting

Just got back from AKV. We found the darker rooms there restful after a day of hyper-stimulation at the parks and most of the rest of the World,

suppose we brought so bib mamajama watt bulbs with us?
we would put the original bulbs back in at departure......i like to read before sleep

I have only stayed in studios in kidani and found them to be bright enough. IS this a 1 and 2 bedroom problem?

I will see in sept when i stay in a 2 bedroom standard view at kidani.

It seems to be. I've also only been in the studios (how did that happen?) and have only seen an issue with the lighting over the bathroom sink (kidani) pointing straight down at the sink verses scattering to highlight someone standing at the sink. Even then, it's not too bad (I have to lean in under the light for vision reasons anyway)

I had no trouble at all reading by the lights. We were in a 2 bedroom at Kidani and I really did not notice the lighting. I think because the furnishings are very dark it seems darker than it really is. We had no trouble seeing to read, etc.
