Why am I worried to use WEEKEND POINTS IN JULY???

Okay now that we have used all our EXTRA points (developer points) in our DVC deal last Jan....we are down to our 300 a year. I have 279 points left til Oct. 1st and if I just stay 5 week days at BCV we could save the 79 points for summer of 09. I could extend our trip in July by staying at SOG on the two weekend days so that gives us 7 nights. It only cost 120 bucks a night at SOG. SO we go to St. Pete for 3 nights and then stay SOG for Friday and Sat. and then BCV for 5 nights. IF not we use our points and stay Sat. at BCV and bank 4 points into next year. By the time we get to SOG from St. Pete's it would be check in anyway and we could just hit a park for the evening. We have AP's. Thanks for any advice. Anyone else feel like this?????

When you finally commit those 279 points you are going to have some serious withdrawal symptoms. Maybe you should bank some for a rainy day.

Well, for us (we only have 200 pts.) So we rarely use points for Friday or Saturday. Just too steep.

At BWV, we usually book a Saturday in addition to the Sun - Thurs. ressie. I don't mind spending the pts. for one weekend night. We usually check in on that Saturday and get settled. I don't have enough to book a weekend night at Vero Beach. Those are really alot of pts. For now, we will just go for Sun - Thurs, maybe rent a hotel in Vero for a Sat. night in the future. There will always be a reason not to use pts. for a weekend, but if you can swing it, I would do it. Just my OP.

Well I did book BCV for Sat through Thursday nights so I am banking 4 BIG POINTS. WOOHOO. I at least have it and will decide by end of March if I will keep Sat. or not. I am excited to stay at BCV and I think the kids will love it and the location to EC and MGM will be nice too.

We used to try to save points and stay somewhere else on weekends, but it got so I hated moving. In February we are staying a Friday night at VWL, and in July we'll be at AKV for both a Friday and a Saturday night. Yeah, it's a lot of points, but I really hate moving.
