I've realized over the course of the past few days that I am obsessed with bags. I am a bag hag. Any and all types, it does not matter...designer, non-designer, backpacks, totes, luggage...they have all found their place in my collection.

My latest obsession is in finding the 'perfect' bag for my Disney trip in January, now a mere 13 days away. :scared1: Time is running out.

My first Disney bag was an Eastpack messenger bag, not a sling messenger, just the kind that was narrow and rests on your hip. I liked all the pockets, but found it to be heavy and cumbersome after being fully packed.

Next, I thought, that's it...I'll use a fanny pack. No more heavy bags for me! The fanny pack did save my back and shoulders, as I knew it would, but alas, she just doesn't have enough space.

For the next trip, I had yet another epiphany...I'll use a mini-backpack-purse, I gleefully thought! Now I'll have space while saving my sholders and back. But I was foiled yet again, when the constant removal of the backpack just made it too annoying to consider again.

All three of the aforementioned bags now reside together in a dark corner of my closet.

Now comes the task of finding 'the perfect bag' yet again...what to go with this time, that will rise to the challenge of commando days at WDW? I've read of many suggestions here on the DIS...the Baggallini messenger being top amongst the candidates, also the Travelon messenger as seen on late night QVC, the LL Bean Healthy Back backpack...I think the overall theme here is a sling-type bag is the way to go.

I am flirting with this one I found on ebags.com, a sling with a pink girly-ness about it...plus it's quite inexpensive. Do you think it will do? Should I buy a bigger sling backpack, like a school bookbag? Or do I succumb to peer pressure and get the Baggallini?

Oh, I'm right there with you-I love bags. Any and all kind. Just today, I bought the Aspen getaway bag at Bath & Body Works for $15.00. I have more bags than I know what to do with. I think it is a sickness! LOL

I like that bag on ebags. (Love that site, too)

I REALLY like the looks of that bag!!! (though not pink :) ) - I need a new bag, as my Disney bag got washed w/ a crayon in the laundry....not good....it was beige , now its kind of weird tyedye! I'd be buying it as we speak except it doesnt look like it has a place for a bottle of h2o - a must.

good luck - Im a bag freak too! (But, I swear I didnt put the crayon in the laundry! )

I think it looks like a kidney. Especially with the pink and all.

Not being a style guru I have to say with my kids and the ages they are I found the :ssst: fannypack to work the best. My hands were free,I never had to worry about forgetting it anywhere and it was big enough to carry everything I needed and nothing I didn't;)!

Please don't kill me for saying this... :scared:

My best park touring bag has been a waist pack -- just a cheap $10 one from Walmart. It's blue and ugly, but it holds everything I need and I forget it's on! I've tried carrying other bags -- slings, small backpacks, regular backpacks -- but still went back to the waist pack.:rotfl:

I have about a million bags, too! And I just keep buying more. :sad2:

I like the one you posted.

I really like that bag.

I'm the same way about bags. Every time I am getting ready to take a Disney trip, I'm on this quest for the perfect bag!

:wave2: :ssst: I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me! :ssst: I am also a bag hag and in the last month sold off a bunch on Ebay but like I said I love my waist/fanny pack for outings! I am definitely not :snooty: so the brand means nothing to me!

I plan on bringing my Eastport fanny pack that has 2 zippered pockets on it which is perfect for holding my notebook, camera, pen, drink packets etc--

--DH will also have his which is fancier than mine and has a velcro pocket on the front then a zippered pocket which looks like a wallet with 2 open areas,a zippered area and a place to hold credit cards and KTTW cards then a big zippered pocket for camera and ???? then a small zippered pocket on the backside

I was told by the budget board of a neat bag at campmor and went to see it and it was a columbia tour bag.......I LOVE IT...and so does my dil.....it has more room then my big one......and a cellphone holder and a water one on the other side....

Ohhh....can you post the link here? ('ll go hunt for it too!)

Love my high end bags, but also my Vera's too! Disney, however, is another story....... I go bagless! That's right, I cram the few things that I have to have into my pockets, or make DH carry them :) We did the stroller for years, I got used to my diaper bag, but after standing in that dang "bag line" to get into the parks DH put his foot down. Now, if you have to have it, YOU tote it. It's amazing what you can do without when forced to carry it on your person. No more sunscreen, we bathe in it before leaving (30+ SPF). Kids clip a stick on their shorts for touch ups. 1 lip balm, a travel pack of Advil, a couple of Goody powders camera in DH's pocket, tickets/APs/room cards in his wallet and we're set. That don't mean I don't love the bags though, bought a new Vera yesterday. :)

I wish I could go bag-less to Disney! It would be so much easier. But I just have to carry our passes. I can't trust DH. He got so annoyed with me for wanting to carry all of our family's passes, that now he insists on carrying his own. So, I trusted him once to go get fast passes for us at RnR. He comes back with the fast passes and hands me those, along with our tickets. I look and one ticket is missing. I had to run back to the fast pass machine to get it! Also, I have to carry hand wipes or purell and my cell phone.

I have an extra large sized fanny pack that I got about 15 years ago from Jansport. It is great and holds about twice the amount of the small ones. Everyone in my family has used it and it is still like new. I even threw it in the washer once.

That said, they don't seem to have the same one but this one looks nice. ;)

Well, I'm so excited...only my fellow bag hags would understand this...but I got my new bag today!!!

It was the one from the first post, in pink. I love it! :cloud9: When I put it on, my arms are completely free, and I don't feel the need to constantly adjust it. It had three main compartments and a small pocket on the strap...just where my fast passes and ticket will be residing next weekend! It does not have all the credit card slots or mesh pockets likek some bags have, but I find I rarely use those things anyway...and even though it doesn't have a pocket for a bottle of water, I am sure I can fit one inside if I want to. Probably won't, but it's an option. Plus it is not big and bulky. I'd say it's bigger than a Baggallini, but smaller than a regular day pack. :woohoo:

I'll let you know how it holds up in Disney when I get back. OMG, only seven more days!

I have one very close to the pink bag. I use mine all summer, very easy and everything I need fits in it. The only draw back is it is a one shoulder bag so not 100% hands free.

SO SO happy for you - and I DO understand!!!! I'm glad to hear you describe it. And while we're on the topic _I_ bought a baggellini!!!!!! I got it off Ebay..it not a good color but really wanted to see if I'd love it before spending anymore (got it for 10.99 and shipping...) I'll let you know what I think!

When it comes to being a bag hag for Disney, I'm the hands down winner!

We go in the summer a lot, so you have to add the pressure of hauling stuff around in the heat (no husband, just a dd, so I'm the main schlepper).

Anyway, I think I've purchased no less than (over the years) about 8 different waist bags and at least a dozen backpacks. They're all too big or too small, have straps that dig into my arms, or don't have easy access (drawstring backpack with wide straps that says "My castle, my rules") or don't have the right compartments.

And then I ordered ANOTHER waist pack yesterday! (only 7.95 on sale. In hopes of finding the perfect bag, I bought two. With shipping, less than $20.)

I'm glad your bag may seem to work. I'm excited about this next trip (3 weeks from today!) because at least it won't be hot!

Could you post a review of your new bag after your trip? I saw a similar one and I was thinking of getting it for our next visit. I've been using a drawstring bag but your bag looks more comfortable to wear.

I'll post a review, no problem! :wizard:
