I leave in 44 days for our 1st family vacation to the most magical place on Earth.
Why am I not excited?
All the planning is done and everything is paid for. I am just wanting now for the day we leave to arrive.

Help! I don't know what's wrong with me. :(

I leave in 2 days and I'm not that excited. I think mine is due to dd being sick and I am worried my boys will be sick once we get there. :(

I wish you extra: pixiedust: that your dd gets well and your boys will stay healthy on the trip! :tink: :wizard

Have a great vacation!

That's how I felt yesterday and yesterdsay I hit single digits!

But don't, your feelings WILL change once you get closer!
Now, today, at 8 days left, I feel pumped!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

You are SO NOT ALONE. Every once in a while there is a thread EXACTLY like yours.

It'll happen, I think its all the planning, thinking, re-planning and finally its done

THEN one "MAGICAL" moment it'll come to you in a flash....OH THE EXCITEMENT!

HAVE A MAGICAL TIME MAK'N MEMORIES! :wizard:

Try watching the planning video or some parades, etc on YouTube...always gets me in the "mood" :rotfl2:

Our family is leaving in just over a week. My DM, DSister, and I are really excited. We're pretty sure DF is too, but he likes to pretend he's not. DBrother is another story. The boy isn't anti-disney, but he says he doesn't get the big deal about it and I should have chosen some place else to celebrate my birthday/graduation.
We sent him the following link about two weeks and he's been humming disney songs and making plans with DS and I ever since. Even asked to watch a Disney movie with the two of us and DNiece.

I can not feel Disney right now, and I will be on my Dis vacation starting on the 18th in Hilton Head.

I always develop the "packing anxiety" around this time, and the crunch of getting the house in order before we leave.

Once I get there it takes about a week for me to get it together. I am ok after that

It's such a strange feeling. I am slowly getting there.
Last night as I was laying in bed I was making a mental checklist of things I need to do before I leave. Not good. LOL
I guess too, I have been reading that others that have a trip in July are receiving their ME tags and such and I haven't received anything yet. I feel like I am 2 steps away from panic mode but others on the board say not to worry just yet! Easier said than done.

This is my girls first trip and I haven't been there since 1995. That is along time and I know that so much has changed.

It's exciting and crazy as the same time.

We have our first family Disney vacation coming up next month. I am so stressed and overwhelmed, but I have to admit, excited at the same time. What I am trying to do is not to go too crazy over the whole thing, but it is so difficult. I have my packing list, and a whole Word document I made with everything on it: all hotel confirmations (we're driving down from NY and going to Boca first), all DDP ADR confirmation numbers, dates and times, a specific itinerary for each park on each day based on all the info I gathered from TGM (which changes as I get more and more info from him), I sent all the directions to my email address, DH also borrowed my sister's GPS and has been playing with it to "get to know it", put the kids' favorite shows onto DVD for the car trip, etc. All that has been accomplished and yet I still feel stressed. This is typical for me before any vacation though. Two years ago we took a cruise with our son who was 18 months old at the time (before we had the little one), and I was on cruise critic website like everyday, multiple times per day, for about 8 months before we sailed! I am that nutty! I found out everything about every little corner of that ship and then some! But that's how I am, I love to find out as much info as possible. And you know what? Once we went on that vacation I was so relaxed and unstressed once we got on board! I knew where most things were, what to do, some of the best food they offered, etc. And it felt effortless.

So all of the effort and the planning and gathering info does pay off in the end. I keep telling myself that with this upcoming trip. I know once I am there we will be having so much fun that the stress will "magically" disappear! :wizard:

Have a wonderful, magical trip! I know you will!

Try and RELAX.

Disney is magical, but remember that it is also "real life." Things happen, people can be rude, the best laid plans gets messed up.

It sounds like you have done all your researching and planning! So leave knowing you have done your best. And remember, one plan that doesn't quite work out may lead you instead to an unexpected treasure!
