Why am I getting different prices for the DDP

How come when I do the math for the regular DDP the total is so much less then when I ''fake book'' a package on the Disney site? (I just subtract the resort and ticket prices) For DDP is was over $3500! But when I do the math myself with the $60.64 per night each adult and $19.23 per night each child it comes to $2702...?...There will be 4 adult and 3 kids for the DDP and we are staying 9 nights. I'm so confused! Is there tax that is included on the Disney site that I'm not adding in?

Disney doesn't add in the tax (6.5%) until later. Not sure how your totals are so different. My only guess was that it counted one of the younger kids as an adult.

Are you using the latest prices for the dining plans? The prices went up last month. Remember you'll be paying tax on the package too. That may not have been added to your total.

When you subtract the resort and tickets, are you subtracting the taxes for those, too? The easiest way to get the prices is to fake book the room with and without the dining plan and compare the difference. With that many people, you might also be getting charged for additional occupancy, so comparing with and without should give you the correct value. Otherwise, more details would help.

Most likely the difference is because of the other fees, taxes, etc that are added to a package. Along with the 6.5% tax there is an additional resort room tax of I think 6%. Also, it may be adding trip insurance since it is a package. The dining plan prices (e.g. $64.60 already include tax), but the per night room rate and tickets do not.

As supersnoop said, try booking a package without the dining plan. Then add the $2700 to see if it comes close to the total the website has calculated. Whenever we've deconstructed a package we've come within a couple dollars of the total, but it can be challenging to figure it out.

Have seen that sometimes if booking online, with a package, the system will automatically add travel insurance and you have to opt out of that.
