This is driving me crazy...

I asked MS if they knew who the person is whose voice you hear when you call DVC. I asked the CM if she knew and she told me she believes it's a guide.

I have been suspecting for a long time that the voice is the voice of my guide, Jim McCoy. I have not called Jim about it because I am sure he is busy trying to sell all DVC has to offer. But ...

Does anyone know? Thanks!:goodvibes

I doubt the voice is a guide. The voice you are hearing has been used by Disney in various places, most notably the monorail a few years ago. Unfortunately, I have not idea who the voice is! I'm sure someone on this board knows...:thumbsup2

Pretty much all voiceovers are recorded by professional voice artists. A few years ago the company I worked for needed new phone announcements recorded. We contacted a supplier (think it was Advitel), listened to a large selection of voices and then chose one we liked.

Cost a fortune too.

As far as voiceovers and announcements, I have no idea who DVC uses. I do know that they use guides and other cast members in promotional photographs. For instance, OKW CMs and Olivia's servers are in the photo brochure they sent out announcing the OKW extension. And our guide was featured, in a different CM costume, on a DVC sales promotional poster at one of the bus stops a few years ago. The phone voice for DVC may be a regular CM or guide.

Most voiceover announcements in the parks, though, are professionals.

So funny that you say this as we think the same thing. I have said since the first time I met Jim in December 2000 that he totally has the perfect Disney voice!!! :goodvibes

My wife and I own a little 5 person insurance agency, but our on hold voice's are from a professional service. It's pretty cheap, something like $80 for 5 rotating speals per flash drive. We change them for different seasons or holidays for the back ground music.
