I just finished reading the whole thread. Whew! Once something goes past 2-3 pages, I don't think it's fair to berate posters for not reading the whole thing before commenting.

That said, I've been distracted ever since page three. Why? Because my brain hurts to think about what this would mean:

Hindsight is always 50/50.

I know it was a typo, and I make my own fair share of them, but did this mess with anyone else's head?

So, final update (because the dis loves an update)..

The car had $7800 damage and it was written off. BIL was given $800 for it, after the $500 deductible. So, I was close with my guess.

I have stayed with my decision of not saying another word about it. I will be as civil to bil as I ever have been and will just keep this tucked away in my mind.

Thanks for one of my more interesting threads.
