I was catching up after the last few days and I love the stuff you've made and the slideshow too. Lydia was watching it with me and commented on every photo! That's Mickey Mouse! That's the Castle! That's the ball (Epcot )! We quite enjoyed it.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Like Paula said, I sat there yesterday in the dr office thinking, I'm sooo glad this didn't happen a month from now!

I'm hold up on the couch for today, MIL took Ryan. DH gave him a lecture last night about letting go and resting! He's too funny and sweet! He told me "If you don't don't call my mom to take Ryan I'm going to have her come over and rip him out of your hands!" LOL!!

So for now I'm doing a little surfing and then I'll take a nap!

I have to share another story about the rude women in the office at my kiddos school!

I was supposed to have a brownie meeting today. When I got home from the doctor I emailed and called all of the girls parents to let them know I was cancelling the meeting because I'm sick. I get a call at 9:01, school starts at 9, from the office. The women was so rude!! Telling me she heard that the meeting was cancelled and did I call the parents blah, blah, blah. I told her that I emailed and called everyone and there was only 1 child that I hadn't heard back from. She told me that she hadn't recieved a not for that girl or my daughter telling them to put them on the bus. I told her normally I right a not telling them not to put her on the bus and to dismiss her to scouts. The office women says well I have the list of dates you gave me so if anything changes at all they need to know. Okey dokey! But, now I have to worry about DD's little friend. I told the women in the office I would try again to contact the mom. She told me yes, I needed to do that. I said ok, and said "thanks so much" and the stupid (insert word that rhymes with witch) HUNG UP ON ME! No joke!! URRRRGGGHHH!!! No "Ok, thank you too," no "your welcome" no "bye" not even a kiss my grits! She hung up me!!!!!!

I called the little girls mom at home and left a message, waited a bit and called her at work. She knew the meeting was cancelled and she didn't write a note for the exact reason I didn't. She writes a note every time we meet saying dismiss her to scouts! So, she was going to call the school and let them know to put her daughter on the bus.

I'm sooooo annoyed! This is the second time they've been rude to me! I can't stand it! I know they have a lot to do and there are certain rules etc but being rude to people isn't going to help! All I did was volunteer to be a brownie leader!! I'm very, very tempted to email the principal and express to her my displeasure in the rudeness. The first time they were rude the women made me feel like a scoulded child and now! Well, now I just feel like crap and she she made it worse!! URRRRRHHHHH!!!!!

Do you think I should email the principal or just let it go?! I'm so annoyed!

The secretary does not need to be rude. I am so sorry this happened again - especially, when you are following the rules. IMO, since this was the 2nd incident, I would shoot off a quick email to the principal. The school is a place of business and I think the secretary has forgotten that. You don't hang up on people - no matter what! Of course, unless it's a telemarketer calling your house and they don't take "no, I'm not interested" in a polite tone as an answer.

Hope you start to feel better. Keep laying low!

Don't make me come there and nurse you too.(remember I only take care of the elderly).Besides I have some selfish reasons for you getting and staying well.....I need you well so you can keep me entertained and sane before my trip.

As for the "witch" I'd definitely call or e-mail the principal about her behavior it is uncalled for, just think if she is that rude to an adult how does she treat the children???????Should she even be allowed near children with her attitude.???

BTW...we made it here safely but it was a long drive today, I think every idiot was out on the road going the same way as us.It usually only takes us 6 hours(1 hour for all the potty breaks we have to stop for ....all because I can't pee in a pop can)
I'm glad we(he) remembered to bring the lap top I almost forgot but as we were leaving my DH said didn't you want to take your lap top so you can post of DIS. He does listen to what I say.

Well I had better get off here DH will be back soon(he went out to bring us back some sandwiches or what-ever for dinner) and like I said he is always worse off then I when it comes to this visits. This trip has been harder on both of us then the other times.

When we did GS, we meet at a church at night time. That is nice you meet after school. I would have liked that so much better. As for the school, I would call and speak to someone in admin. and let them know how this woman is speaking to you. Most of our schools here, the people are friendly in the offices, my BF is the secretary in my daughters old elementary . But I know I worked at the high school for four years, and those ladies in there were just nasty. You would say good morning to them when signing in for the day, and I swear they growled at you. I really am against people who work with kids, who do not like kids. I don’t get it.

I haven't felt up to emailing to complain, I may do it this weekend. I was at DS's Thanksgiving lunch today and both the principal and the superintendent of schools were there. I was tempted to say something but I figured it wasn't the right time or place.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. I'm feeling a bit better today! I've been totally down and out the past 3 days and I swear I've slept about 1000 hours! LOL! My chest still hurts, just not as bad, and I've stopped coughing stuff up (sorry TMI!) the strange thing is I hurt all over!! My legs, my arms, my back!! UGGHHH!!! I had a fever yesterday, haven't taken it today cause I feel better. I went to DS's thanksgiving lunch and walking from the car to the school and to his class made my knees hurt! Very strange and different!!

My house looks like a giant bomb went off, good god it's terrible!! I didn't get to do any of the stuff I wanted to do this week! Ugghhh! Hopefully I'll get something done this weekend. Monday afternoon I'll be at the school for hours with the kids parent/teacher conferences. They both have 2, one with their teacher and one with their speech teacher! Then we're leaving Wednesday for PA for Thanksgiving. I'm hoping to get to Home Depot Tuesday to buy a artificial christmas tree because I really want to put it up 11/30! We'll see! I'll try to let it go if don't get everything done, but I'm not good at that!

I clean a bit this morning. Last night I was in the kitchen with DH and he was commenting on how big of mess everything had gotten so quickly. I was like hello!!!! Then he said "I guess you do do a lot during the day!" He was kidding, but I didn't really fund much humor in it. He tried to clean up but his idea of clean and mine are so far from each other they might as well be in different galaxys!!

I'm kind of regreting the cleaning now. I was really pooped after and want to take a nap. Good luck! It Saturday, the kids are not in school, DH was working (bad part about owning your own business and working from home) and MIL and FIL we're in NYC today for a party. When Ryan took his nap my attempt to have one myself was a huge failure! The big kiddos and puppy had other plans for me!

DH did actually go to the grocery store today!! HOLY COW!! He'll go very occasionally for 1 or 2 things. He actually shopped today!! He had to make a few trips to the car to get everything he got! It wasn't all crap either! Good thing, we may have starved soon, I have been to the store in over a week now!

I need to get out of the house today so I went and had a manicure and ran to Walmart for a few thing I needed for the minnie dress I was making DD and a few other things. It felt good to get out the house!! All be it freezing butt cold!! I got the stuff and finished the dress! I'll have to post pics, I'm very proud of myself!!! LOL!

Ryan can find ANYTHING escapable!! He's a little dare devil!! Knock on wood, he hasn't been to the ER yet! He climbs like nobodies business!

Good morning my friends!!!

I’m getting back to normal now! Feeling about 80 – 85% better. I can’t lay on my back to sleep, I get a horrible stabbing pain when I breathe! YIKES! But, other than that I feel like I can breathe, that’s a wonderful thing!! Still pooped, still sore. But, not as bad! I just have to make it through Thanksgiving at my Mom’s and I’ll be fine. There’s something about my Mom’s house. We can’t figure it out! But, last year after Christmas all 5 of us and my sisters son were sick for like a month!! I’m not sure if it’s that my Mom isn’t the best housekeeper and has 2 cats or if it’s something else. DH keeps saying he’s going to test the air quality! He’s allergic to the cats so we drug him up with Claritin and Benedryl!

To make me feel better on Saturday I got wonderful mail!!!

My Passporter!!! I pre-ordered the 2009 back the beginning of Oct and they had a problem with the printer. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever!!! But I got a 50% off coupon for the delay and ordered the refill to use for our March trip with it. I read the entire thing and plugged all my January info in! How handy dandy!!!

Sunday, I finally got to making DD’s Minnie dress. The top of the dress is a long sleeve tee from Target.

I’m so happy with the way it came out!!! Sorry I don’t have a picture of her wearing it! I tried it on her at MIL’s and I didn’t have the camera!

I also made her a hair bow to go with it.

Yesterday was the first day of parent teacher conferences at the kiddos school. I had DD and DS’s speech conferences and DD’s teacher conference. Today is DS’s teacher conference. I’m so proud of my kids!

I had DD speech conference 1st. DD’s speech has improved sooooo much since she started getting therapy! Before she started Almost no one other than me and my MIL could understand most of what she said. I used to translate for her, basically. I’d repeat everything she said so people knew. She started getting therapy the summer before kindergarten. Now her errors are few and far between and the therapist is working on getting her to slow done when she talks and enunciate. Her nasality has come into effect again as it did this time last year. Her and I are headed back to the ENT 12/2 to have her sinuses checked again. Poor kiddo has terrible sinuses!! Her speech therapist was very impressed with her progress and her work ethic!

Then I had DS’s speech conference. DS’s speech is a million times better then DD’s. But, he needs help in a few areas. Our school district is outstanding in being proactive about problems. She said he probably grow out of a lot of it. But in the mean we’ll work on it. His therapist, a different one then DD’s, adores him!! LOL! Most people do!! She told me “all you have to do is look in his eyes and you know what a good kid he is.” That truly melted my heart and gave me tears in my eyes. She really hit the nail on the head with him!! She said he has a lot of fun at speech, works really hard and has improved just since the end of September when she started seeing him! That’s my boy!!!

Then it was off to my conference with DD’s second grade teachers! She has 2 teachers in her classroom. They are both absolutely outstanding teachers! I’ve heard rave review about them for so many people and they’ve proven everything true and then some!! You must understand that DD is VERY smart. Last year her 1st grade teacher told me that she thought DD was gifted! Don’t know where she got that from! It certainly wasn’t DH or I! I sat down at the table with them and the teacher who is basically in charge of the classroom said “I know you’ve heard this before but, Dorothy is just an absolutely wonderful child” LOL! I’ve heard it many, many times. But I never get sick of hearing it!! Her teachers went on to gush about how wonderful she is. She gets every concept they explain to her instantly and can take to the next level and beyond. She tremendously eager to learn and asks to do more! What kid asks to do more?! She is a wonderful writer and reader and has a “brilliant” mathematical mind! She’s a good friend, but stands up for herself when need be (that makes me so happy! She tends to be shy!) He teacher also said that she used to be a 4th grade teacher and she can throw 4th concepts and problem to DD and she gets it!! They gave me her report card. They grade on 1 -4 level, 1 being the lowest and 4 the highest. 4 is exceeds grade level outcome and they only give 4’s at the end of the year and where truly deserved (not sure why only at the end of the year but it’s policy) DD got all 3’s, mostly 3+’s !!!! We're sooooooo proud of her!!! I sat in bed with her last night and talked to her about how proud we are of her. She got embrassed after a few minutes and told me to stop!!! LOL!!! She HATES when people talk about her, even if its good!!!

Thank you for the compliments on the dress!! I've tried 2 other times to make similar dresses and failed miserably!! LOL!! Thank goodness my Mom is an expert and told me what to do!!

here's a close up of the top of the skirt/bottom of the top!

You can see a little of the white from the top creeping out, I need to iron it so everything lays flat. The ribbon was an after thought because the fabric on the top got a little puckered in 2 places. The ribbon hides it!!! LOL!!! Shhh!! The bow and button piece is a pin! I hot glued it together on a pin backing because I didn't think it would wash well, now I can just take it off.

I love, love, love our beach!! It's a private beach for people who live on our street. It's about a 3 minute walk down the street!! It's so peaceful and serene!!! DH would love to live in one of the houses along the shore but we don't have that kind of crazy money!!! LOL!!! It's funny that a house that's less then a mile from us is like 4 times as much as our house!!!

We love the beach so much!! THe good thing about the beach being private is only the people on our street use it and probably half the people actually do. It's so uncrowded it great!! Plus everyone knows everyone else and there's always someone to talk to, someone for the kids to play with and everyone kind of looks out for each other!

We're looking forward to thanksgiving! Especially the kids! My sister, her DH and their son will be there also. My nephew is 10 days younger then DD. DD and DS and him have a grand time together!! Unfortunately my other sis and her family won't be there

DD is so excited about her dress, she wanted to wear it to school today! I just couldn't let her!! They only had 2 hours of school but with the terrible rain this morning I had this vision of her tripping off the bus in a puddle or something! I told her after the trip she could wear it to school. She got all pooty at me. Smarty britches knows how to work me!! But, she also know when I out my hand on my hip and look at her in a certain way I mean business!! LOL!!

So, DH and I went to DS's conference! His teacher is soooo sweet and so full of energy!! LOL! This is her first year teaching!

DS is doing very, very well! She was very impressed with work ethic and his creativity. He's got such a vivid, wonderful imagination!! He makesup these elaborate stories!! He really knocked her socks off with his stories!! He wrote her and Indiana Jone singing book which he sang to her yesterday! She was soooo excited about it!!

He came home last week and told DH and I that one of his little girlfriends, he's a ladies man, had been punched in the stomach by a "bad boy." He told us that he was going to beat this boy up for hurting this little girl! I asked the teacher about it and she didn't know anything about it. The thing about DS is that he will not stand for any injustice and feels the need to right and wrong he sees. His teacher mentioned that he has a heart of gold and is an absolute angel! She said he'll tell the other children "You have to listen to the teacher, your being rude" LOL!!! Oh boy!! She said "If I could just give him a little halo!"

Awwwwwwww!!!!! My boy!!!!!!!!


So, we're off to PA in the morning!! We'll be back sometime early Saturday afternoon and have Thanksgiving dinner next door with MIL, FIL, SIL and her DH Saturday night.

Sunday is football at 1. FIL is having a "tailgate party" before the game. LOL!! I wonder if he's going to go outside!!! I promised him I make chili and make it extra spicy just for him!

Love the dress and bow. It's so much to sew for them at that age or make them anything. Your kids sound so sweet and what wonderful news you got from the teachers. Early intervention for speech makes a huge impact for later on. Kids are like sponges.

I'm jealous of your beach. I absolutely love water and find it so peaceful. Chain that bench down! What great memories.
