Whose going in 2013

We plan on going in August of 2013 for my son's graduation from high school. We do have 2 other trips planned between now and then. 12/11 and 5/12

We are going. I had started to plan a 2012 trip, but I am planning on switching jobs in at the end of the summer, so it will not work. We have not been since 2009, so I am making sure that March of 2013 we are going (and my first time trying to surprise my sons). :dance3:

I got the go ahead this morning for march/April 2013 and we are trying for a surprise too!

After my AP expires in june our next trip will be for DS 4th b-day in sept 2013. loved MNSSHP last year and ready to see the finished fantasyland!

Feb 2013 for Mardi Gras, along with half of Louisiana. Maybe I'll stay at Port Orleans, so I won't totally miss out on the Mardi Gras spirit. I'm guessing Disney Gras is a little different...

I've been trying to avoid all things Disney, because the second I see it, I start fantasizing about another trip. Since we bought a house in foreclosure last December, it's been a very expensive and busy year, so trip planning has been out of the question! It seems like every commercial or internet banner I see is about Disney.
Yesterday on facebook I saw the article that was posted about the opening of the Art of Animation resort. When I saw there were going to be LION KING :simba: themed rooms, I decided that I MUST start planning my next trip! I'm currently pregnant with our second child, so it's not going to be practical to go for a while. September 2013 will be our ten year wedding anniversary (and ten years since our Disney Honeymoon), all of the wings of AOA will be open, the Fantasyland Explansion should be complete, the Avatar section of Animal Kingdom will at least be started, and DD will be 7 and DBaby will be 1 1/2. Sounds like a perfect time to go!! I never finished my trip report from our vacation in 2010, because it was too sad to think about how long it would be until we could go back. :sad1: Just thinking about a 2013 trip puts some magic back into my step!! :cool1:
PS...I knew no one on disboards would think I was crazy for starting to plan this trip already...:rolleyes1

My theory is this..... Doesn't matter how long away the trip is just as long as you have a ticker! Enjoy your planning.

choo choo... Im aboard the 2013 train!!! :thumbsup2 November for us!

Wow... I thought I was insane for looking at December 2013, but I guess i'm not alone!

We just got back from our Oct 2011 trip and I have the post-trip depression. My wife isn't as nutty as I am so I can't seem to convince her we need to go back in 2012, but I too got the "go ahead" to start planning December 2013. Looking at the week before Christmas (likely the last week of the 2013 Fall season before they switch over to ridiculous pricing). Our kids will be 9, 5.5, and 2.5 then so it should be a lot of fun. The future 2.5 year old is only 4 months old right now which wasn't a major problem, it just meant that we had TONS of stuff to carry around this time.

We did 4 nights at Pop Century and hit DAK, DHS, and MNSSHP. In 2013, I want to do at least 5 nights (since we won't be taking anyone out of school) and hit all 4 parks if we can. Or we might skip DAK and do 2 days at MK to take in all of the new Fantasyland (I trust it will be all open by then??). We're also realizing now that Pop is too small for a family of 5 so we're looking at either AofA or the cabins at FW. I'd love to do the Contemporary, but I just can't see shelling out that kind of cash.

So, when does Disney open up those dates to booking? It doesn't look like we can do anything yet. Also, when might I be able to learn the "season" dates as I want to make sure the trip doesn't extend into the 2013 holiday pricing.

Only 25 months to go!!!

Brian

We don't have any dates set, or any sort of planning underway, but I am sure we will be returning in 2013 since we are DVC members and we go at least once a year if not twice. We have a trip coming up in January and I am getting the o.k. to start planning on a trip for September/October 2012 for F&W Festival (first time for us)....I don't dare start planning a 2013 trip yet....DH likes to get through one vacation at a time.

Glad to see others planning for 2013! We just got back in September and agree we want to wait to go back when the Fantasyland expansion is (mostly) done and also to check out Christmas time at WDW. So, we've decided on November/December 2013. But I'm having trouble picking a week when crowds will be tolerable, we were spoiled with going in September. Here are my concerns...

Thanksgiving falls on Thursday November 28th this year, which is incidentally the last week of November. The week after is first week of December which is usually Pop Warner week, which means the usual slow week after Thanksgiving is possibly non-existant in 2013. If Pop Warner remains the same, is it safe to say the week after Thanksgiving 2013 will be packed? I think it would also mean no free dining this week, since Pop Warner week is usually blacked out. Although, I guess it's possible Pop Warner will push their tournament back a week since it's the week after Thanksgiving?

Also, how much more crowded should we expect end of 2013/early 2014 to be since the Fantasyland expansion is expected to be mostly done, if not completely open by then? Wasn't sure if that time of year would even have a "slow week".

I'm stressing about this way too early

Last year we went December 11 to the 18 and had Free Dining. It was VERY crowded that first Saturday at MK due to it being the tail end of Pop Warner, but after that the crowds were virtually gone!! Also, very cold but that's another story. It was a great week to go as far as crowds, Christmas decorations, free dining, etc. That being said, we are looking at going in 2013 sometime after school lets out (unless I get a good Bounceback offer when we are there this coming February!)

Glad to see I am not alone in my "planning" of a 2013 trip.:thumbsup2 We just went for 10 days in Aug. '11 and now we can't imagine going for any less time.:confused3 Our past two trips have been in August and we have been able to take advantage of Free Dining which has been great since we are essentially 4 adults. But it has been really hot and pretty darn crowded. By 2013, we will have two DDs in college so we are hoping to go as soon as they finish in May. We will take DS out of school for some time as he will only be in second grade. It should be less crowded and hot but without Free Dining, way more expensive too.:scared1: Long story short, not sure what time of year we will be going, but it will be in 2013 for sure!:cool1:

Well, let me jump on the bandwagon...

We are already planning out next 2 years. If all goes according to plan
2012 -- headed to Disneyland & San Diego Sea World for holiday season (Thanksgiving break probably)

2013 -- Going to Aulani! Our oldest DD gradutaes from HS that year, so we are going to Hawaii as a graduation trip

Then 2014?? Hopefully Disney Fantasy

It is NEVER too early to start dreaming about a Disney Trip! :)

p.s. We are gonna be onboard the Disney Dream in 13 days!!!!!! Woohoo!!

I just realized that if my dates dont change between now and June 2013, my ADR window will open up on xmas eve 2012!! What fun!!!

My dh was planning his vacation for next year and said he didn't know if we should go next year and I told I would rather go the next year when the new Fantasy land is done. So I'm not sure when we would go. We are going in a couple of weeks so I'm leaning toward Dec. again but who knows. Maybe early May but I don't know how much of the new area will be done by then. It's just good to know that we will go again.

I'm a crazy planner and wish I could actually BOOK our December 2013 trip right now, but I've got a few things working against me...

-The school calendar isn't even out for NEXT year, let alone the 2013-2014 calendar (which I'd need for this trip).
-Since Christmas is right smack in the middle of the week in 2013 (on a Wed), I'm guessing the schools won't be out the prior week meaning that there is no good time to go.
-Having said that, has anyone been there the week between Christmas and New Years? Is it unbearable? I'd like to think I'd have a better time with crowds if its not 90 degrees outside, but who knows...
-Also, what is the farthest out Disney will let you book?
