I'm here. We'll probably have early release for the department, so I'll let my co-worker go then, but I'll have to stay until 5:00. Phones have to stay open, even though they're not ringing. Likely, I'll be the only person on this end of the floor, just like Thanksgiving. Oh well...

I'm here until 3:30. I'm the supervisor but chose to man the phones and let everyone else take off. The phone stopped ringing at 11 a.m., but I'm still here trying to talk myself out of leaving.

My uncle is also a letter carrier! I know it is hard work, but we get presents in the end. Think of all the joy he is spreading.

Yesterday I got a Christmas card from a high school friend. I was in her wedding and we keep in touch. She sent photos of her three boys, one of which graduated in JUNE! He looks great and I feel old. Just imagine what fun little thoughts he's delivering to everyone.

I love hearing all his stories. He said people are so happy to see him when he's delivering there last minute package.

Our receptionist has been trying to get a hold of the boss to see if we can leave early. It's 3 so I'm not holding my breath...

I'm on duty from 8am until 6pm. And my whole family is at the house. Fortunately I can bring my emergency response vehicle home and park it in the driveway. As long as no one in my response district needs a Paramedic I can hang out with the family.

I work for a school so I get the same two weeks off as my boys. My poor husband is at work today but he said he should be able to leave around 2 or 3. He's just happy to have a job since they just had some layoffs!

i got off at noon but had no idea until 11:45 when the boss sent an email. now had UPS been picking up today.... then i'd be there til 4pm. phew!!

Wow, I was wrong. I won't be the only one on this end of the floor, I'll be the only one on the whole floor! Co-worker just went home, so I'm by myself. Good thing I brought my Nintendo DS!

I finished just after 5pm, when DH was starting! Hopefully DH will finish around 2am but unlikely as there will probably be someone causing trouble to keep him later!

I'm just getting ready to head out, finally....to be fair, though, for the last few hours I've done nothing but read about dead malls and eat fudge & cookies, working sporadically when it looked like someone who was someone might be happening by my desk. Thankfully, no one ever did.

I just got home from my retail job I was the only one scheduled behind the jewelry counter for the last 3 hours We closed at 6, but still had people pounding on the doors to be let in . I'm off until Tuesday night , and off from school until January 5th

I worked my regular schedule today - 630am til 3pm. I'm on call tomorrow, I'm off Friday (woo hoo!) then I'm on call this weekend. Good thing I love my job!

I'm posting this from work. (I swear I'm on a break) I'll be stuck here until 11:30 tonight. But this is the first year I'll have Christmas off in several years. Yay!

My DH worked today but is having a heck of a time getting home. The 91 freeway which is legendary here for traffic he can't even get onto because traffic is so snarled. I don't think he is making dinner. I have been stuck in DC traffic, Houston Traffic, NYC traffic all over this country and I have never seen anything like the 91. This is in good weather too.

I feel for everyone else that won't have loved ones home tonight.
