:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Just wondering who is watching the World Cup? I know I am! Who do you think will win?

Germany looked strong today, while England's match with Sweden was crazy with Sweden scoring in the 90th minute!

Let's hope the USA can pull off a win! Did you know we have yet to score a goal in this world cup. The only reason we had a point against 'italy was because they knocked in a goal for us!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Go USA!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have watched at least one game a day during the week and all of the games on the weekend. My eyes are about ready to roll out of my head! ;)

So far I would have to say that Argentina look most likely to win it all. They look more like Brazil than Brazil. But Germany is looking much better as the tournament goes on and home field advantage is normally huge in the Cup.

As for the US not scoring yet, McBride was right there for the tap in had the Italian defender not done it for him. And Beasley put one in the back of the net that was ruled offsides. So we are capable of it, the luck just hasn;t fallen our way yet. I am sure we will beat Ghana but and not as confident that Italy will beat the Czech Republic to help us out.

I have watched all the games from day one!!

The USA vs Italy game was brutal, but they played so good and had 15 corner kicks, more chances to score than Italy.

My teams are Mexico, USA, Brazil.

We are watching/taping almost all the games! Our teams are England, Brazil, and USA!
Can't wait to see the USA vs. Ghana game! :yay:

SimonV and I are watching it every day. It's my 'first' World Cup, and WOW!! I can't wait for the next game, especially when it's either England or US. But they're all great fun to watch.

I have to disagree. No offence to any Germans as I am 1/2 German myself. The referees were in total favour of the Germans today. If Ecuador so much as touched a German player the whitle blew, but if the Germans knocked Ecuador down, and it clearly was a foul, the game continued. The referees are pressured when it's the home team. Same thing happened last time in Korea. Just ask the Italians :sunny:

Ecuador benched it's best players in preparation for their second round game. Not making exuses but that might have contributed to their loss.

Also Germany really wanted to win because I think they probably want to play Sweden instead of England.

I watch with great interest, but we leave for WDW in less than 10 hours. We'll be able to catch tomorrow's Argentina vs. Netherlands game before we leave for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. Thursday will be tough as we will be in the MK during the USA vs. Ghana game. I plan on seeing the afternoon games live when we return to our hotel for our mid-day break.

Watching on weekends and not rooting for a favorite. Just want to watch good soccer.

Fav match so far: Sweden vs Trinadad and Tobago. Best 0 - 0 game ever. T & T's goalie was on fire. Sweden had a lot of good chances to score.

Also liked: English fans singing (as loud as they could) "God Save the Queen" at the end of the Paraguay match.

I have been watching, although its very hard to avoid over here in the UK.

My picks so far are Brazil to win.

I hope Australia gets through the groups. This is only the nations second world cup, the first being in the 70's. They played very well against Brazil, although they lost, it was not a one sided game.

I hope some how that Australia play England and beat them. But that will not happen. I think the only way for that to happen is if both countries get into the semi-finals .... which lets be honest, England is playing poorly and Australia is not up to the standard of established teams like Argentina, Germany, Ecuador etc etc.

I've watched nearly every match and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of it. I think that Argentina is the team to beat, althought you can never rule out Brazil. We (England) had one of out strikers (Owen) injured in the Sweden game yesterday, so we are all waiting to find out if that is the end of his world cup. He's going to have a scan today, so we are hoping for good news. I think that the US played with a lot of guts and determination against Italy and were unlucky (IMHO) to have their goal disallowed. Hopefully they will beat Ghana!

I agree. Argentina has a GREAT shot this time, but Brazil seems to always fly under the radar and make it to the finals.

I really wanted to see the Argentina game, but missed it! I'm so bummed, but looking at the score in the internet 0:0, it must have been quite a game!
Anyway, I'm watching the Mexico vs. Portugal game right now.

Is it me or are there a lot of yellow cards being given out this World Cup?

Tomorrow I am off so I will be watching the USA play Ghana!!! :cheer2:

Also LETS GO ITALY! :worship: We need a win from you guys to help us out!

USA! USA! USA!

I will not be able to watch the game since I'll be working at camp, but hoping I'll come home to some good news!

Total BUMMER! :sad2: With the US loss!
Does anyone feel that the refs are making too many "mistake" calls? What about the amount of yellow cards being given out?
I'm not blaming the ref for our loss, however that PK call kind of took the wind out of our sail!

I guess I'll need to start rooting for another team....humm...who's bandwagon should I jump on? :rotfl2: :cheer2: Any suggestions!! :cheer2:

I have yet to see Brazil play, however they do play Japan today. I'll definatly be watching that.

(You have to admit though, the fact that Ghana is advancing is a great story. I mean the nation declares half a holiday so people can watch the game as well as the power being reserved so everyone's t.v. would work!)

I love the World Cup!

It is a great story. In DH's country, NOBODY goes to work or school when their country is playing. The whole country is a mass of yellow jerseys.

I love the World Cup too! :goodvibes

I agree with you about some of the decisions that the refs have given I think that the US has had some harsh decisions go against them. There's no way that was a penalty that was given to Ghana!!

:cheer2: You could always support ENGLAND!!! :cheer2: :thumbsup2
