Just turned on Sky to start watching the build up, cannot decide which channel to watch though - too much choice, albeit Sky are showing in HD a bit later so that could well win!

I plan on watching as much as we can, with the boys, before we go training - and taping it all - its history in the making, and something that I think the boys should see and understand the struggles that it has taken to get here.

Sadly no, the girls are making me watch 'The Wizards of Waverley Place' ;)

I've been watching it today. Personally I think it's fantastic, nice watching history being made.

Watching on CNN - lets hope he can make some positive changes :thumbsup2

Yep, Im off work, so Im watching it, History in the making:)

I've sky+ it from earlier & am now watching it live. :thumbsup2

I am watching with the Boys

I'm watching it, I studied American politics at A level so it's really interesting (for me) to watch it!! It's an amazing bit of history :thumbsup2

We're all watching it on fox news but ds7 thinks its a bit boring but I told him its history and that he should watch it

Yes, I'm watching it now. As the wife of a black husband and the mother of 2 mixed race children I am so hopeful today. It makes me so proud and happy that nothing can be denied to them on race/colour alone.

Good speech, sounds like he's got his work cut out for him!

Not sure about the poem though, didn't even rhyme! Thought she was going to start with...

There was a man called Obama...:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And what about that Aretha Franklin nicking the music to "God save the Queen" for her song, so much for independence!!

Seriously though, a very historic event.

Oh good it wasn't just me that thought it sounded a lot like our anthem!!! I didn't hear the introduction and got mightily confused!! :rotfl:

I have been watching all afternoon with Kyra, tried to explain to her that this is History and she just looked at me like :confused3 lol.

I was hoping that he would stand up and do a Cartman impression.

'I'm the president now, I can do what the hell I like'. :rotfl2:

Very impressive speech, sounded a lot like JFK to me. Let's hope he can deliver.

Kev

its great to watch history taking place, I sadly missed the poem, sounds like fun lol

I watched it - I thought his speech was good, very hopeful. It was lovely to see, I loved seeing all of the flags at Capitol Hill, an amazing sight.
