okay I know that Jet Blue has November fares out, but I am I still that only one holding out for 'specials' for November flights (non Thanksgiving)? The past 2 years I have booked my tickets in July/August and have been able to get some pretty good deals. I know that the deals may not be as great as in the past, but maybe better than 257.00 BOS to MCO.

What do you think? Any one else holding out????? :rolleyes1

We are holding out . . .right now the flights I'm looking at from BDL - MCO are $362/RT/PP for the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We have a flight credit of $156.00/PP, but I really don't want to pay the $206.00/RT/PP difference. I still feel that the prices are going to come down a bit from there. :wizard:

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is so busy it is probably unlikely that the rates will go down for flights on 11/26.

According to analysts quoted in today's Wall Street Journal (D1), fare prices are more likely to go up than down. A number of trends underlie this assumption:
1: Fuel prices are up, sharply (as we have all felt)
2: More Americans are travelling domestically (and less overseas due to the declining dollar)
3: Airlines have reduced the number of flights systemwide (flight schedules show a 4% drop from last year)
:teacher:
So higher demand plus lower supply, exacerbated by soaring fuel costs and it seems we have a recipe for much higher airfares, fuller flights and less need (and ability) for the airlines to discount.

You might get lucky with a fare sale for the times you're planning to go, but most of the indicators are pointing to higher fares everywhere.

Good luck!
