Who's There Now? How's the Rain?

Hello! My family and I will be in WDW Aug 5-10. The weather for next week looks very similar to the weather this week (40-60% chance rain most days). How rainy is it? Just short bursts of storms? Rain all afternoon? Something else?

I was at WDW when the hurricane hit last September/October. I was really hoping for a less wet trip this go around. If I can't avoid the rain, I at least want to be prepared for it (both mentally and physically).

We are here now. Around noon there were a few sprinkles today at Magic Kingdom, but that's it. Yesterday the 31st, our arrival day, was wet all afternoon, which was a bummer as they closed the hotel pool for lightning in the area, so we didn't get to swim. But today was great...if 92 degrees and 75% humidity is great...also those reports of low crowds, not today at MK. Even the kiddie coaster Barnstormer had an hour wait at one point

Afternoon showers. Some are short bursts. Some are light drizzle all afternoon accompanied by clouds for the rest of the day (which honestly is a nice break from the beating hot sun). It's nothing like hurricane weather - not even comparable. It's more like bring an umbrella or poncho just in case it drizzles all afternoon or there's a 20-minute burst of rain.
