Who's skipping MVMCP and why?

Just curious. Still tossing the idea around and I've heard praises sung, but I'd like to hear from those who decided against it and why. Thanks

Haven't read through the entire thread yet. But we aren't going because DH and I did it last time, and even though I loved the parade, the Mickey/Minnie show and the caroling, I didn't feel it was worth all the extra expense.

My DH thought the picture was a joke. We were there at the beginning and I found out on this board which place to go to get your picture taken. We got there and waited around 45 min. for a stupid picture!

One day I want to take my kids, and I think everyone should try it once to see if it is for them. But I BY FAR prefer CP....and that's expensive with a family(edited to add: I mean the package is expensive  ), so I just decided on that one. I could never miss CP! :faint: This trip I couldn't pick both.

We have also been flip-flopping on this issue, due primarily to the fact that with two young children - I am not sure how long they would last before we would have to call it a night. And to pay that kind of money for only 2 hours in the park - I'm not sure we could justify it. Since we are staying at the Poly for the first time I am thinking that it would be a nice chance to see the Holiday Fireworks for the MVMCP at the Poly beach with our own hot chocolate and a quick walk back to our room and tuck-in.

I'm so glad to read that they have snow for the Osbourne Lights which is much more doable for us since it starts at 6 pm. Perhaps we will catch this and head back to the Poly for the Holiday Wishes.

So if we have the snow at MGM and a good viewing spot for Holiday Wishes, I think we should be OK, unless the shows themselves were out of this world to sway us to attend. We will be catching all the other parades including Spectro during our 7 day stay so the Christmas Parade I am not too concerned about.

What do you guys think?

We went to MVMCP in 1998 & 2000. I do believe everyone should do it at least once. However, we felt it was more crowded in 2000 and it wasn't worth the extra money. It did introduce us to incredible cocoa, which by the way is instant from Nestle that you can buy at home!

Knowing the crowds have gotten even worse and the price continues to increase turned us away from it. As well, we are only going for 5 instead of 8 days since it will be my 2nd of 3 trips to WDW in 3 months!

Holiday Wishes does have me intrigued. We might try to see that from the Poly.

I'm choosing not to go. There are so many wonderful things to do at WDW that are free (CP, tree-lighting ceremony, jingle-jungle parade, etc.) that I just don't have any desire to spend the time and money for MVMCP.

I second that! We are also skipping it this time. Maybe when our kids are older...
