Ok, so we decided to try to go from Nov 6-10. Just got off the phone with MS, the only thing available was a studio at OKW on Nov 6. No other rooms available at all. I guess I find it hard to believe that every DVC studio/1 bedroom is already spoken for. I know it's a busy time at the world, but come on, it's not Christmas! Anyone else on the waitlist for a studio?

I booked our Jersey Week stay at my home at the 11 month mark. At the seven month mark, I wanted to change it to BWV, 1BR standard view. I was able to get two nights. I took them and waitlisted for the remaining three nights. One by one they came through. I can't remember when I got the last night, I'll guess around June?

Did you go on the waitlist? Good luck to you. I hope something opens up.

I see you're from Bellmawr. You're not too far from me!

Tracy,
I really do wish you luck.....hope the waitlist comes through for you. But in 2004, we had a 1 bedroom booked at OKW 6 months in advance. At the 3 month mark, we decided we needed a 2 bedroom. There was absolutely nothing at any DVC resort (not even a studio which I was willing to add-on to the 2 bedroom). I waitlisted right up until the 7th day before......then called OKW and every resort daily to see if they had anything. Unfortunately, nothing ever came through at any resort. This is a busy time for DVC between Jersey Week and F&W. Sending some pixiedust: your way because anything is possible.

Good luck Tracey! I hope it comes through! :cheer2: Did you request night by night?

I have been playing around with waitlists/reservations for a while.

We booked a 2 br standard view at the BW at 11 months. We also booked a standard studio for 1 night so we could come in late the night before.

I later decided to go on the WL for a BW view Studio for that first night. It did come through but DH and I decided not to take it and save the points. :bitelip:

Then grandparents decided to come and I was trying to get a cash res. studio for 5 nights with DVC discount so we could take that and leave my kids and parents in the 2 bedroom. That was not available at the DVC discount, but it just became available last week.

We tried to get a couple of those nights with points, but they were unavailable. I have those waitlisted, and we shall see if they come through.

Good luck everyone. See you in WDW! Don't forget to sign up for an absentee ballot!

I guess I'll call back MS, I don't know if she set it up night for night or for the whole week. For those of you whoe have gone at this time of year before, how do the crowds compare to Thanksgiving week? We went last year for Thanksgiving and the crowds were horrible.

We've done Jersey Week several times over the years. Also did Thanksgiving week once.
I'd say Jersey Week is a little better, but the last time we went in 2004, it was pretty crowded. We were there Nov 1-6, 2004. It got very crowded Nov 4 on.......the first three days were heaven though. Past Jersey Weeks ('99, '01 & '02 seemed much less crowded than '04 was ?)

We haven't done Thanksgiving in quite some time (it was 1998). I recall the parks got much better the Sunday after Thanksgiving and on, but the week building up to turkey day was crowded.

My experience is that the crowds are pretty heavy Thursday through Sunday. I don't know if we are solely to blame though. If you go from the weekend before, it will be heavenly until Wednesday, then on that day, you will see your first "NJEA" shirt. :rolleyes1

Sat and Sun starts the Super Soap weekend at MGM, and that's the last weekend of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. I think lots of people from other places and locals come for those events.

Tracey did you think about maybe trying to make a cash reservation and then having a night by night waitlist? Then maybe you can plug in the days that come through and pay for the days that don't? Just a thought.

It's also Veteran's Day weekend and Super Soap Weekend this year. I get the feeling it will be very crowded this year. I have good news as I am probably cancelling a studio at SSR from Wednesday to Sunday as my family didn't buy their airfare soon enough and now it is too much for them to come down.

I have a studio at SS checking in on Sunday to Friday of jersey week. Made the reservation after we purchased air fare. Our plan was to go on the Disney Cruise but we had until Aug 21 for the final payment. We are going on the cruise so a studio at Saratogo for 5 nights will be opening up.

We'll be in a studio at BCV during the last half of Jersey week -- I was thinking of trying for a 1 bedroom, but it sounds like that might not work. I'll see about waitlisting for it -- I've never done that before.
Any words of advice?

I booked a 1bdrm at SSR at our 11 month mark. At 7 months, switched us to VWL. And at the same time, waitlisted for a 2 bdrm std view at BWV. Nothing has come through at all on our waitlist. I have it pushed out to 7 days before but I'm not hopeful.

I did ask about how the waitlist worked and the rep at MS told me that if someone cancels a ressie, they never even see the room come back in, that the computer automatically pulls it if there is someone on the waitlist for it. And they work their way through the waitlist so if someone is before you, they will get it first.

We were down for Jersey week last year and it was fine during the earlier part of the week but really bad on Friday/Saturday (of course, it took me a while to realize that it was Veteran's Day and I'm sure FL schools were closed). So I expect to do as much as possible early in the week and whatever we get to at the end will be a bonus.

I just wanted to bump this up a little to see if anyone has anything to report.

I just found out I got a studio off the waitlist for the night of 11/13. Technically, it's the Monday AFTER Jersey week, but since it is part of our Jersey week stay, I am excited to report it. Anyone else have luck?

Currently have a cash booking for a 2 bedroom at OKW and am waitlisted for any 2 bedroom for the same time frame. This is a "girls long weekend" and would prefer to use points so should I waitlist for each night? Would we have to move if we got 1 night on points? or should I just waitlist each of the nights at OKW? Really confused now thanks.
