DH found out work schedule for next month. He will be home for Christmas!
He'll be gone 20 of the first 23 days(actually 6 half days home) but then he'll be home for Christmas!

Haven't heard if Brother will be off for either Christmas or new Years, He works as a psychiatric nurse for the criminally insane.

Anybody else that could be working the Holiday but has off?

Christmas break starts Dec 9th and I go back to school the 9th of Januray

This is the first year since we've been married that my dh has Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day off. We've very excited! He's a firefighter, and has always had to work one of the two days. He also traded holidays with someone, so he'll be home for Thanksgiving too!

I've never had to work any major Holidays. But congrats on having your DH home!! :)

I really lucked out this year!! I am a Nurse and we always have to work 2 out of the 3 major Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years.)

Well, since I worked Christmas last year I am off for Christmas this year. :)

But here's where the luck comes in......They had too many of us scheduled for Thanksgiving, so they drew names to pick 2 people to offer them that day off......My name was picked!!!!! :Pinkbounc

And, to top it all off, Christmas Eve happens to fall on my weekend off- so I will be home that day too!!

Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day off......

Like I said, I REALLY lucked out this year!! :)

I only work 9 days in December! :earseek: I looked at the schedule- realized the week BEFORE Christmas isn't "prime time" (the week between Christmas and New Years is Prime) so I asked for that off, plus we will be in WDW 11-30 thru 12-07... I work the week of the 12th and the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th and that's it for me!!

I had very little vacation this summer (only took 1 week instead of the 3 most others took). People are kind of mad now, but we all make choices..... :confused3

this is the first year my DH has had both christmas eve and christmas off! I am so excited that we can acually do something as a family instead of just me and the kids!! I talked to DS yesterday and he thinks he will be home for christmas too!! I guess thats why I am so excited about christmas this year!!!

After working many, many holidays for 37 years and having been scheduled to work this coming Christmas, I finally retired and moved to Florida. So, I am not working this Christmas and just might go to WDW instead. Life is good!

The first 10 years at my job I worked every holiday and eve tere was but now that I have seniority I can take them all off if I want...and Chistams is one of them I always take off!!!

I'm very lucky--I work at a college and campus closes for a week this year. Since it falls on a Sunday this year, we only get one week--when it falls in the middle of the week, we get close to two weeks off.

I've never had a job where I had to work holidays, fortunately. I grew up with a mother who was a nurse and it was tough. Thanksgiving has always been my least favorite holiday because we'd spend it home alone with my dad, eating turkey TV dinners. We would have a T-giving dinner on a different day, but the day itself isn't all that memorable for me.

DH always saves a week of his vacation to take off between Christmas and New Year's. :goodvibes It's always the best week of the year!

This is the first time in five years that I'm not working a second job where I have to work black Friday and the day after Christmas and/or Chirstmas Eve.

I'm looking forward to it!

Anne

I have black Friday off
Thanksgiving off
I work Christmas eve till 6
christmas Off
and work New years eve and New years Day

I feel like shouting from the rooftops myself!!!!!

All I asked for was my #1 choice to be off was Christmas Day. (worked last year, our nurse manager tries to rotate on/off) Well I got Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day off. I can't believe it! I am so ready to decorate the house, and bake. Last year, I was so not in the mood and didn't even put one stocking up. This will be the first year DH and I have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off.

This all couldn't have come at a better time, as my stepdad is very sick (in PCU now with a pneumothorax) and this will most likely be his last Christmas with us. We are committed to making it very special for him.

Off Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Christmas Eve

The only is I have work Black Friday and I have had the last 2 Black Fridays off.

I have off Thanksgiving, the day after, and then I am taking vacation time 11/28, 11/29 and 12/2 (MVMCP) and 12/4 and 12/5. I have company to town for Thanksgiving, so taking time off before the holidays. I then will be off Tues before XMAS until the Monday after. I work from home, so working during the holidays is not a big thing - it's a slow time, I can get my 2006 files ready to go and still be home with my DD.
