Since Folks with young children are happy that EMH for "Little Ones" is a fine idea, who can come up with the next group who get "exclusive rights" to the MK on selected mornings?

From what I've been reading here it was set up to encourage people with young ones to make the trip but they actually let everyone who wants to get in early in with or without kids. popcorn::

Hey have any extra popcorn:: for me?
This should get some fur flying!

Hi all,
Why not a fire dept day? They can set the rides on fire and if you can put them out without the whole attraction being a total loss,you get to ride. :teeth:

WOW. Did you wake up and the wrong side of the bed or do you need sleep?? Disney offered this to entice families with small childern to come to Disney World and stay on site at what used to be a very SLOWWW time. This is the same reason they offer free dining. I believe if they let you know in advance that's fine but if they let you know when you get to the gate--that's not OK. I believe there are portions of Disney that are for adults only. That's not discrimination--it's the rules. If you know the rules fine. It's when the rules aren't posted and you get there expecting one thing and BANG--noone with kids under 5 rule at the gate that I have a problem with. this is what seems to be happening now. I have an under 5 and have NO problem with adults and older kids showing up for this. We are all kids at heart when we are at DISNEY. Age is just a number.

Not according to the current thread here titled-

Little Ones Magic Hour

Just read through it.

Ok I just went back and read this thread since the ones I had read earlier were saying they were still letting anyone in. I still do not consider it descrimination though. Are there not things at Disney that kids cannot do? We don't picket that saying it's descrimination. My dd is over the age limit for the Pirate adventure but I don't call that descrimination. Now if they said only purple people (as not to offend anyone), or only tall people, or only skinny people were allowed in then I would say that would be descrimination but lots of things have age restrictions. Heck I can't get a night out with just me and dh because dd is too young for the daycare clubs they have (I don't trust the in room care) but I'm not going to cry descrimination, that is the breaks. I think people play the descrimination card way too much just because they don't get there way. Flame away. :rolleyes:

That's what we all thought.

I again invite you to read the current thread here titled-

Little Ones Magic Hour.

Then please post back.

I am personally waiting for drunken pirates day, myself. :rotfl2:

I say WHO CARES ?????? Get your panties out of a wad, and chill out ! I mean of all the things to talk about. You must have a boring life...

Oh come on... I think this is a good thing! I mean we sit here and listen to some people complain about how parents can't control their kids, and how kids whine and on and on and on. Now we're hearing "Well it's not fair that THEY get to go into the park and I don't!"

Sounds like a whine to me!

Seriously? It's ridiculous. Even if they did deny me because I don't have a child with me, you know, that's their right. And furthermore, I'm glad that they have this for parents with little ones. I know it can be hard to take a little one to the parks, especially with crowds so this is something extra special for them. Good for Disney! :thumbsup2

The main problem is that some people have older children that have special needs that would really enjoy this EMH as well, but should they be let in? Or what if you have a young one, but older kids as well, should they get in or be made to wait out at the gate?

WDW has not posted an age restriction on its website, as far as I have seen. I'll check again today when I have a chance. No one has posted saying that there was an age restriction in any literature given at check-in. If someone who has judt come back as that info, please feel free to scan it in and post it!

If I went to this EMH, and was told at the gate that I couldn't enter, but it wasn't posted anywhere, I'd ask for a manager and lodge a complaint. Then perhaps they'd actually fix the loop-hole or inform the CMs to let people in. WDW publishes their height and age restrictions for everything else, so this is a glaring mess, IMO.

This is what I found on the website, today:

Little Ones Magic Hour Benefit‡
As a special benefit for Disney Resort Guests, Fantasyland® in Magic Kingdom® Park will open one hour early on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the Little Ones Travel Time. Resort Guests can enjoy an extra hour of fun at select Fantasyland® attractions and fun magical experiences with beloved Disney Characters.

For little ones, we recommend attractions that emphasize fun. We've included live shows and parades in which beloved Disney Characters spring to life, recreational activities that are at a young child's pace, and dining options that are welcoming and fun for our youngest Guests.

~~~~~~~~~~
Note that there is no age limit, just that you have to be a resort guest. Also, they use the words recommend and otptions that are welcoming and fun... No age restriction so far.
Anyone just back with a pre-schooler who can find something in the check-in info that sets an age limit?
That would be pretty much any group that Disney decides will make money for them.
I think it is sweet to offer such a nice perk to a group of people that have a difficult time seeing and doing everything as it is. I remember traveling with wee ones, and we were lucky to get anything done. (Not that this is the only group that has this issue.)
Elsewhere on this board, I've seen reports that people with older children, or without children, have been turned away. Unfortunately I don't know how to give you the link, but the thread is called "Little Ones Magic Hour" and the posts reporting people being turned away are Posts #7 and #32.
Now I am not a Disney vet or anything, I am still learning the ropes, but aren't EMH mornings and evenings a perk of staying at a WDW resort? Any special events (that I have found) cost extra to get in, Halloween, Christmas, etc. It would seem odd to me that Disney would gear an event that is primarily for children, most of whom, do not even have to have a paid admission to get in. I doubt they will sell so much in retail, etc that would compensate for the opening, staffing, etc of an entire land at the MK.
With that being said, I am not trying to take away anything from the little kids. I seriously do understand the logic behind it. I just am not sure if it is right to turn away other resorts guests. And according to Disney don't children above the age of 10 then have to pay adult prices? So it would seem to me if this event is geared towards younger children, and we assumed we could go by Disney ticketing standards, then children under the age of 10 should be admitted. And I wonder if those same parents that are against keeping older kids out would be ok with them being excluded from an evening EMH in say Adventureland for older kids. This might not even be an issue much longer because on the web site this "event" was through the 30th of Sept.
Anyway, again I am not being mean, just stating the other side!
Well I have two little ones and am thrilled there is a LOEMH and they are enforcing that attendees do in fact have a little one in their party!!! :cool1:
BTW, if you go check the thread referanced, another Diser did in fact scan in the brochure received which clearly indicated the '5 and under' age....
As per Who's next.... I think they should have a TEEN night at a park. No young kids OR adults!!! (FYI....I don't have any older kids but I think teens would have a blast...)
